Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Is Quantum Break the new standard for emotion in character Graphics?

What?I don't think Quantum break is so good, the graphics are better than the facial animations,I'm not impressed, games on last gen has way better animations, like L.A. Noire,Beyond two Souls and the Last of Us,not even close to Uncharted 4.

What do you think of the recent previews which say Quantum Breaks Facial animations are better than all those games. 1 specifically says all those games are bettered by Quantum Break.

When I think facial animations I think LA Noire. It's literally one of the main mechanics in the game.

I haven't been keeping up on QB so I def need to check it out

Platinums: Red Dead Redemption, Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet, Terminator Salvation, Uncharted 1, inFamous Second Son, Rocket League

Fucking creepy, should have spent more time on Nathaniels hand in that GIF.

OP: From games I have played, yes.

Personally, I tend not to put much stock in "previews" from the media. It is possible to have a positive preview from an outlet and a mediocre "review" from that same source on release. I'm more interested in the actual meta score when it's all said and done. That way we can discuss if the actual game even deserves being in the same conversation as UC rather than trying to piggy back off it's cinematic success.

Look how the author goes out of his way to avoid the obvious comparison. Classy.

If Quantic Dreams' new game matches their tech demos then they might set the standard going forward.

Still, we're talking minute differences.  None of them seem to be the huge step forward we saw with LA Noire.  Honestly, compared to the newest games, I still consider LA Noire the best, as it somehow (sometimes) avoids the uncanny valley that many others fall into on an inherent basis.

Well I was specifically referring to character emotion. Many out there love Remedy without Naughty Dog. Alan Wake was a fantastic cinematic game. So id say will the game live up to Remedy heights of great cinematic storytelling. Alan Wake was one of the best cinematic games last gen. And for me easily the best horror/thriller last gen.

I'm confused.

Best neck mechanics!

The obvious comparison is TLOU, made by ND, the studio that make it part of their development philosophy. To ignore the very game that brought it to the fore negates any view this author has in terms of performance in games.
