Heya, Cloudman here, with an little reminder of a thread. So many months ago, after the officially confirmed Pokemon Sun and Moon, I made this Pokemon Sun/Moon Nuzlocke sign up thread to see if anyone was interested in trying it out with this game, and now we're only a few days away from the release of the game. So... yeah, it's time for the reminder. Those of you who showed interested, and anyone else who may be:
Are you up to the Sun/Moon Nuzlocke Challenge?
Anyone who no longer wants to take part, that's cool. Going into a new Pokemon game with the Nuzlocke challenge may not be the best way to enjoy it, and it definitely doesn't allow you to fully savor every moment of the game. Though, if the Pokemon games are growing a bit dull and want a way to spice things up, they perhaps Nuzlocke may just be for you.
I was one of those people who, while still enjoyed the series, was falling out of it. So I tried the challenge myself with the X and Y games, and it turned out to be one of the most exciting journeys I had. It was full of exciting, intense, suspenseful, and of course, very tragic moments. Like most people, I tried to play it cautiously in the beginning, but as expected, tragedy strikes when you least expect it.
Such a moment when I was on my way to the ruins, with all the rocky pillars. I was training in the bushes for awhile and was heading into the ruins to heal up, but I unknownly triggered a battle, when I was stopped by Korrina and her 2 Lucarios, however my pokemon were injured and in no condition to fight. So I tried my hardest to fight off the Lucarios, but they had a weird move that powered them up the more they used it. So as my only bird pokemon had fallen, 1 by 1 my others began to fall as well. It could have been the end of me, and so quickly too. Somehow I escaped with only 2 pokemon, and it was crushing... And exciting! More surprises awaited me in this journey as I played on. As I tried to recovered from this defeat, I went to the crystal caves, hoping to get a cool pokemon to help me rebuild my team, only to get a Mr. Mime. Of course I was severely disappointed, but little would I know that he would end up being one of my last standing pokemon, and one of my strongest too. Johnny, my Mr. Mime, ended up being an essential psychic fighter, helping me through so many moments, being even better than the Charizard I got, and even outliving the legendary dark bird (who I forgot his name...)
It's interesting what could happen in a nuzlocke challenge, whether it's getting stomped on by tough gym battles, or the most unlikely of pokemon becoming your best team players. Unfortunately, this story doesn't have a happy ending. Admittedly, after that defeat from Korrina, things went rather well, aside from losing more members here and there, such as the Lucario who killed my previous members (perhaps karma finally got him back), and the unfortunate criticals that happened every now and then. It was when I got to victory road where things fell apart. Somehow I was losing a pokemon per battle. It was like the road was chipping away at the life of my team. By the end of the route, I had 2 pokemon left, a Flygon and... I forgot the other. I had spare pokemon to train, so I used the remaining ones I had, losing a few during the training process, and took on the Elite 4. Sadly, most of my pokemon has fallen, except one, my Flygon, who eventually fell to a dragon, because of rough skin... It was very sad to not only lose at the very end, but also sad that I lost most of my core members by the end...
