Not really surprise there, but the lower profits will partly be because of R&D for NX

So basically: exchange rates messed them up?

Sucks but that's just how the economy works. I'm sure Sony and other Japanese companies are also feeling the sting as well. And it seems that they bumped their 3DS predictions down. But really when they haven't released much of note in the past year, what do you expect?

Trying to blame it on exchange rates when it's really that they're just not releasing games this year.

You realise this is forecast for FY that will be ended 31. March of 2016!?

Also:

As for applied exchange rates for the full fiscal year, actual exchange rates are applied to all currencies up to January 2016. Assumed exchange rates in and after February 2016 and at the end of the fiscal year have been revised from 120 yen to 115 yen per U.S. dollar and there is no change from 125 yen per euro. As a result, we expect approximately 20.0 billion yen in foreign exchange losses to be reflected in non-operating expenses.

That's basically around 60% of their initial forecasted profit. The yen has dropped like a rock in the past few days.

Yes, look at the release schedule during that period.

Xenoblade 3D, Splatoon, Super Mario Maker, Happy Home Designer, Chibi-Robo, Woolly World, Triforce Heroes, Super Mystery Dungeon, Ultra Smash, Amiibo Festival, Xenoblade X, Paper Jam, Fire Emblem, Twilight Princess HD, Hyrule Warriors Legends, Rhythm Heaven, Girls Mode 3.

I might be missing some but those are the retail games by Nintendo released or set to release this fiscal year, this isn't including the dozen or so digital only releases either.
