Forums - Gaming Discussion - So, Let's Talk About CGI And Game Development

So glad I am not a modeller modelling realistic shirtless characters. I would be needing a tissue box every day. :P
Get's me excited for the future.

The full demo from which that kitchen floor came from. All real time on Unreal Engine 4. Expect stuff like this next gen.

Also that demo isn't as impressive as it looks

So, Why Does Every Word In The Thread Name Start With A Capital Letter?

That pic with Robert DeNiro for example, does he just start painting him with a brush or does the program scan it into a detailed model first and then you fill in the colors?

What I would like to know is how do they make those CGI trailers?

How do they make such detailed models and landscapes and perfect animation?

A couple of days ago I was talking to my cousin about how far CGI has come, and how close videogames are gettingcloser to "real-like" detail.

I showed him the trailer for Kings Glaive FF XV, and his jaw dropped into the floor. Those characters look ALMOST REAL. I'm still stuck playing Xenogears and Wipeout Pure, it'll be a long time before I work my way up to the current gen games in my backlog, but I'm really excited for what the future will bring, specially for full length CGI films.

This thread is progressive one.
