Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo NX to Support Unreal 4

The relevant thing isn't whether NX is strong enough to run UE4 (mobile runs UE4), its whether Epic cares enough to make built in support for NX. This will really affect how support it gets.

So you're telling me that a console that is releasing in the year 2016 or later is supporting Unreal Engine 4, an Engine that is so scalable that it is being used for games on mobiles?!

Well, no shit, sherlock!

Scalable to mobile and Ouya but not the Wii U. It wouldn't be too surprising if the NX doesn't support UE4 XD

Bloodstained is coming to Wii U, is it not?

Official member of VGC's Nintendo family, approved by the one and only RolStoppable. I feel honored.

Somehow, Wii U us not capable. If Nintendo keeps the stuborn way, and decide to do many tweaks...

Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever

Number ONE Zelda fan in the Universe

DKCTF didn't move consoles

Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

I've heard a rumour that the NX will support interactive entertainment also called videogames but don't quote me.

For a console that may ship in some form at the end of the year its a shame there isn't more concrete information.

Still I'm comfortable that if the 4k streaming rumour is true and it does 900p at 60fps the console will have at least a reasonable spec. I'm a little worried though as 900p 60fps is obtainable by ps4 and even xbox one for many games. Also 900p is a terrible resolution that simply doesn't work on full 1080p displays that well.

I'm really interested in knowing its cpu performance because both ps4 and xbone are very weak in this area and I feel the new AMD cpu's that are coming are a huge improvement in this area. Even if the NX has similar gpu performance to ps4 and xbone increased cpu performance could mean far superior versions on NX of the same games.

As long as it's able to support the NX Zelda, Splatoon 2, and Pikmin 4 I will be fine.

They need to definetely do this. The only and only advantage of being late to a gen is being more powerful. And unlike the dreamcast sony is going to release a console 1 year later. The NX will be able to acheive success or fail based on competition versus xbone and PS4. By the time Xtwo and Ps5 come out the nx will have sunk or swam.

Unreal 4? Aren't we on Unreal 5 now for current gen? Or am I wrong?

TBH you would hope they bloody did support it lol. With full features too not watered down version.

If not it is more doomed that the Wii U

This.  NX would have a helluva hard time attracting third party support, if it didn't support engines that third parties use.
