Forums - Gaming Discussion - PC and Consoles Exclusives Nonsense.

Why is it that when a game crosses over to the PC it’s counted as a lost exclusive especially when it’s an Xbox game? Why do gamers care so much for the PC platform that it throws there console purchase out the window?

Let’s look at some of the things that I have thought about.

Quantum Break being one of the primary examples so far seems to be coping hate from both sides of the fence here. Xbox fans are claiming it ruins there XB1 purchase while PS4 fans say it’s a lost exclusive.

How does it ruin your experience knowing that QB is on PC? How is it a lost exclusive if it’s on PC?

Two different markets, with two different types of gamers. If you happen to own a Gaming PC that’s good, I am a PC gamer and I wish all gamers jumped ship. But exclusive is still an exclusive. QB is still a MS game and it still benefits the Xbox ecosystem. Those that hate Xbox but buy QB are still supporting Xbox since Xbox is MS’s gaming division.

Now let’s talk about E3 2015. Didn’t a lot of gamers/fans say that Sony had the better E3 because they showed games like FF7, SF5, Shenmue 3 etc? Isn’t it funny that those games that are also coming to PC haven’t changed their opinion on their PS4 purchase?

Now before you claim that PS4 have a lot more exclusives shown at 2015 E3 think again. Both systems offered the same amount of games with a fair few hitting the PC scene as well. If the PS4 had a better E3 based off a bunch of PC multiplats then it should make no different if it’s QB for X1 and PC.

Another question I hear raised a lot is why should I buy an XB1 if I can get half their games on a gaming rig running better?

Well it’s simple. An XB1 is a $350 console based around simplicity and plugs straight into your TV and fits perfect under your coffee table or TV Unit. It also houses a lot of XB1 exclusives that haven’t touch PC yet like most of the Halo franchise, the entire Forza series, Sunset Overdrive, Rare’s Replay just to name afew, and also to top it off you get the 360 back catalogue worth of exclusive games, now that’s a lot of exclusives for a $350 machine and you also get a HDMi IN and OUT for your TV. There are a lot of reasons to own a XB1.

As a gamer there’s something special about playing games on the console its design for. Playing Nintendo games on a Nintendo console, Sony games on a Sony console and Xbox games on an Xbox console and PC games on a PC. It never felt the same playing Sonic on my PC that’s just my personal experience.

PC is the most popular gaming platform today, most of its biggest games head to consoles, does that affect PC gamer’s choice? Does it ruin their experience knowing I can play Diablo 3 on consoles? Not one bit. Does it help the gaming community and the support of the games? Quite a lot.

Now before you start saying Xbox is dead and that MS are moving platforms next gen. MS already stated many times that Xbox is an important part of their company. It’s a market they want a share of. There not selling the most units but they don’t have to. If Xbox is dead it won’t be selling 20m+ units to customers, it won’t be the 2nd biggest selling console this generation and it won’t be having so much support that it is getting today.

Remember Hardware sales don’t bring in the money, it’s the Software where the profit is, a console doesn’t have to sell the most units to achieve profit, as long as the Software sells there’s no problem. WiiU is a great example of this.

There will be another Xbox after this, Theres already rumours its in developement. Weather or not you jumped ship or dont care to miss out on its games is up to the user. Get use to seeing Xbox around because its going no where anytime soon especially when its under one of the biggest corpations in the world.

Now lets stop feeding the gaming comunity nonsense and make fanboys hate eachother. Stop these exclusive thread articles and write about somehting worth writing about.

What is the actual topic of the op? This seems like a response thread to several debates you had going on with other users in other threads.

I'm really not sure what kind of point you're trying to make. This is more like an ambling rant than anything else.

As for the importance of exclusives, you have to look at the intentions and goals of each company. With Microsoft, Windows is obviously at the top in terms of consumer products. They'll take a cut to Xbox in order to keep that Windows monopoly in a heartbeat. They're trying to create an "Xbox" ecosystem that goes beyond any Xbox console.

Honestly, though, I'm not entirely sure about the payoff. They aren't going to compete with Steam any time soon and I think the cross-buy thing is kind of meaningless to most PC gamers. All I can think is that they intend to use it as a gateway drug in order to lead more people to Xbox online services. I think they have plans that haven't been revealed yet.

That is quite the rambling rant that makes little to no point. Not sure you are going to get a constructive conversation as a result.

I'd like to echo the posts above! What's your point!

People, what's so hard to understand here? The thread title is nonsense, the content of the original post is nonsense. You are getting exactly what you were promised.

Excellent point. This particular user is prone to this so I am not sure what I was expecting. I certainly got what I deserved. My bad.
