This info was obtained by MetalDave, a source we at GoNintendo have been using for years and years now. MetalDave has indeed gotten inside information correct multiple times in the past. There have also been some details that ended up incorrect. With that said, I believe his overall track record makes this information worthy of sharing.

For those wondering, MetalDave managed to get this information from an unnamed PlayStation 4 dev, and that source provided all sorts of proof to verify his identity/claims.

- Nintendo has key partners they are working with that already have Dev Kits (Second & Third party) 
- this dev is working on a graphically demanding PlayStation 4 game that they would like to bring to NX 
- this studio does not have Dev Kit’s themselves and have not received details on specs 
- Nintendo has informed this dev of a date at which they can order an NX dev kit 
- Nintendo is screening early Dev Kit access before the public developer date 
- this process is extremely complex with a lot of paperwork to complete by both sides 
- the dev kit timing/NDAs involved lead the dev to believe that a late 2016 release could happen

Not much new, but at least we know some PS4-level games are capable of running on the NX. That is always good.

Nothing in there sounds out there. All of it just seems to emphasize a 2016 release date (which a lot of people here were already convinced of).

Late ports won't get enough gamers other than the Nintendo crowd. Better to get the upcoming PS4/X1 games that would come out in the same timeframe with NX launching.

The info is so vague that it's impossible to deny or agree with it.

Honestly, this leak is kind of useless.

Sounds like another of these fake NX rumors.

There's no chance that companies expecting to release large console games for NX in 2016 are just now getting, or are still waiting to get, dev kits. 9 months wouldn't be anywhere near enough time to get everything done for a big console title, including learning the basics of how to program for it.

The very fact that it's being described as "early Dev Kit access" for those who are waiting to order a dev kit pretty much guarantees that it's a 2017 release for the console.

These rumours supposed to produced hype and excitement right? There has been so many now that it's the complete opposite for me, really don't care now.

So some companies dont have a dev kit? This doesn't sound good if they want it to come out in 2016.
