I know that we should just be happy to celebrate the anniversary for the game series that we all know and love but when you see franchises such as Pokémon with 3 (4 for Europe) games to be released in celebration of the anniversary and the possiblity of even more games beeing announced in the next months you can't help but compare to series such as Metroid, who MAYBE (since the game might have been cancelled due to the backlash at E3) will get one game. Not only that but TPCI will hold special events during the whole year, and no, I'm not talking about the Pokémon World Championships that happen every year, neither do I talk about the special leggendary distributions, Pokémon Symphonic Evolutions this year will come to Europe as well as holding another couple concerts in the US!

Overall I believe that Pokémon will get the best anniversary as a Gaming franchise this year. Yes, I took Zelda into consideration.

I'm pretty sure it will be no contest. There's just so much going on this year for Pokemon and I'm sure there's still a few surprises left. I would be surprised if there's still possibly Pokemon Z, Pokemon G/S/C coming to VC, and maybe even Gen 7 launching with NX(assuming it does come this year) waiting to be announced. Along with the other games that are already announced to be coming like R/B/Y VC, Pokken, and Pokemon Go. This is going to be a great year for Pokemon fans!

Well, Zelda U is coming out this year, so I don't know.

On the grounds that Nintendo won't do anything huge for Zelda (with the exception of Zelda U, of course) and the same deal with the new Sonic game (which we haven't unconfirmed as being garbage yet), I'll agree

Zelda will have a better game with Zelda U, but as far as an 'anniversary' goes Pokemon will easily have the best one. I mean they have freaking Superbowl commercial! They're going all out. I think there is a new movie as well?

yep, there is a new movie every year, also this year's one should be the one where they spend a little more money since it's the one where the third leggendary appears (excluding the Kyurem one, that was just BAAAAAAAAD) ...

I didn't know there were that many! The last one I've seen is probably the one with Lucario which must be like 10 years old by now. Maybe I should watch a new one. You seem to have seen them all, are there any which are particulary good? (besides those from gem 1 and 2, I've seen those)

That's pretty cool. I tried rewatching it with friends a couple of months ago but we didn't have the dvd and all we found was of really poor quality.
