Everything comes to an end at some point.

The Last of Us, actually have potential to be a more sucessful series than Uncharted, the game sold like 10+ Millions with the game, and the Remaster.

It's 343 vs Naughty Dog... that and the userbase (since this is more to be expected from new titles, but after Rare Replay and the Master Chief Collection, I think I might have been selling remasters short).

Thats the main issue with studios that are created with the single purpose of creating games from one franchise only, like 343 Industries.

It stunts their creativity and sooner than later they end destroying the franchise, specially when they werent the ones that created Halo in the first place.

Look at their resume:

2009 Halo Waypoint Android, iOS, Windows Phone, Xbox 360
2011 Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary[13] Xbox 360
2012 Halo 4[14] Xbox 360
2013 Halo: Spartan Assault[15] iOS, Windows, Windows Phone, Xbox 360, Xbox One
2014 Halo Channel Windows, Windows Phone, Xbox One, Android
Halo: The Master Chief Collection[16] Xbox One
2015 Halo: Spartan Strike[17] iOS, Windows, Windows Phone
Halo 5: Guardians[18] Xbox One
2016 Halo Wars 2

Xbox One, Microsoft Windows

Microsoft MUST learn that franchises eventually die and you have to move on with newer, fresher games.

Halo is obviously on the decline, a steep decline.

The sad thing is that i dont see Microsoft with a back up plan of their own.

Quantum Break, Scalebound and Sunset Overdrive are not from internal studios.

Forza and Halo are on the way down, and Gears will also have underwhelming sales, im sure of that.

What is going to be their answer to this?

Uncharted 4 will end the Nathan Drake saga on a high note so Naughty Dog can continue with The Last of Us franchise, and after TLOU who knows? But they have to stay creative and independent.

Imagine if Sony had twisted Naughty Dog arms to just create Uncharted games? We wouldnt have received one of The Best Games in Videogame History like The Last of Us.

Let 343i create another game and let the Halo franchise rest for a while at least.

"The sad thing is that i dont see Microsoft with a back up plan of their own."

Thing is Halo was a Bungie game, so that was'nt even a "plan of their own"

Apparently, you are the minority:

Metacritic User Score: 6.6

Amazon User Score: 3/5 Stars

I started out a retort but then I realized I was making a reply to someone who used Amazon and Metacritic user scores as some sort of evidence of anything remotely relevant to my post. That was almost depressing!

And that's a nice long list of games SSM has collaborated on. Of course, I said games they have released, and in that case there are a bunch of God of War and Kinetica or whatever, IIRC. It's ok though, I expected excuses as to why it's ok when Sony does it. bububuu they help on so many other games, who cares if they actually only get to make God of War! And hey remember when Black Tusk was renamed to Coalition and are now making Gears, omg how terrible! New IP! But when SSM's new IP is canceled, jobs lost, and back to grinding away on God of War, hey it's all good! They can help with animations on another Fat Princess title, or help with the netcode on Hot Shots Golf or something. It'll be great. And bububu GT guy actually drives race cars. So he can make race car games the rest of his life and that's fine. Anyone know if that douchebag who makes Forza games likes driving racecars?

It's hilarious. Thanks for the laughs.

That alone is proof that Halo is no longer the franchise it once was. Which is the reason for the thread. Meanwhile Uncharted keeps rising. Halo 5 should be compared to Uncharted 4. We will see how they measure up when the time comes.

But that's not the point of this thread. This thread is saying Uncharted Collection outsold Halo 5, when in truth it was just bundled with most PS4's this holiday.

Acording to VG Chartz, the collection sold over 550 thousands first week, and over 1 Million before the end of the month of october, as i said before, the game would get atleast half the sales that have now, if was not Heavy Bundled, and USA, is not WorldWide, Playstation 4, is not like Xbox One, out there have more market for Playstation 4, but Xbox One, only have USA.

Playstation 4, sold more than 9.6 Millions of units from october to 3 of january, the Playstation 4, had 3 bundles, and a Stand Alone, the Uncharted Collection, only sold less than 3.2-3.3 Millions at retail, before 2 of january, so How do you explain that the people did not had choise ?, the Playstation 4's uncharted Bundle, did not even sold 1/3 of the total of consoles during the Black Friday, and Holiday.

and the People that had a Wii, had a Choise, because of that the Other "Wii Sport" games sold preety damn well, the Bundled's first game sold over 80 Millions, but after 2009, when the Wii, still sold softwares that surpassed 20 Millions of units or even 30 Millions, the people who played the Wii, purchased those games, the problem of the Wii, is that the people were too casual and just the Wii Sports, already were enought for them.

lol @ destroying the franchise. From what I have played of Halo 5, it's better than anything since the first one. Forza 6 is also amazing. Horizon 2? Probably the best racer this gen. Or maybe MS should only be worried about sales and not quality?

Also, Sony does have studios that only release games in one franchise. Look what happened when SSM tried to do a game outside of the God of War franchise. It got canceled and people got laid off and now they're back to making another God of War (and this, of course, is after their last God of War game saw a "steep decline" as you put it). And of course Polyphony Digital, the GT machine for the last.. idk, nearly 20 years. Both companies have studios making bonafide money makers and both have other studios and third party deals for more risky stuff. That's how business works.

But logic has no place in this thread, lol.

Apparently, you are the minority:

Metacritic User Score: 6.6

Amazon User Score: 3/5 Stars

-------------------------------------------------

If Microsoft would worry about sales, they would have a more diverse first party catalog since the OG Xbox, which nowadays consist pretty much the same games than before.

But Killzone Shadow Fall was released on a userbase of zero. It was a release title. In the first two months Killzone was out, there was only 4.5 million PS4s sold, so by your logic we should be able to chalk up those relatively poor sales of Killzone to install base, shouldn't we?

Let me explain. Killzone only sold becasue it was a launch title. What makes it great is that Halo 5 still managed to outsell GGs Killzone which was a force by at launch for the PS4. NDC is no different except instead of being only 1 of acouiple games to buy at launch, its a forced purchase to many future PS4 owners with a starved lineup of 1st party titles. Go in your local game store and ask them how many NDC games they have at the back. Its insane.

@AEGRO

Well duh, NDC would obviously have a higher pre-orders since its also on a popular console which has been starved of 1st party games lately. MS released 5 of there big guns all at a similar time frame giving customers a wider range of choices. Also Amazon is not the only way to purchase games. Do you ignore digital and in-store sales? Like i said my brother works at a Gamespot, he has shown me the bins filled with NDC games which many PS4 buyers cash in on the game after purchasing the cheap PS4 bundle.

Wtf ?, Comparing Killzone's sales, with Halo, is the same that comparing Forza's sales, with Gran Turismo, this is not how this works, you need to compare Sony's biggest tittle, and Microsoft's biggest tittle, you will need to wait until Uncharted 4's sales, or Gran Turismo 7's sales, and then you compare it with Halo Sales, Halo 5, selling under 3.5 Millions until the end of the year, with predictions saying 7.5-10 Millions is really a shame, and i dont think that this Halo, will have big legs, because Microsoft, did not seems to want to push the sales, and Sony, already stopped of pushing Uncharted Collection's sales, now they will push Far Cry Primal, Street Fighter, Ratchet & Clank, Uncharted 4, etc.

A joke perhaps? Because Halo 5 has rather long legs. Most Halos do great on their first day then roll over and die... this one is building up a rather impressive number of sales...

I see a lot of you saying Halo 5 didn't have a bundle. I swear it did though. Am I crazy here? And, like, 4 different collector's editions...

Either way, counting bundles or not, Halo IS Xbox. If it wasn't for Halo, there'd be no 360 or Xbox One. The first three games were HUGE for Bungie and Microsoft. It is safe to say that, yes, Halo is not the system seller it used to be, if a collection of last gen games is outselling it.

no, is not very impressive sales for a franchise like Halo, indeed he is seeling after 3 months what he sold in 1-2 Weeks last time ?, maybe because no one purchased the game is the reason that the game is selling now ?, the game will not have legs like Splatoon, and is really sad when The Last of Us Remaster, managed to sell more while the Playstation 4, had a similar install base, and now Uncharted Collection, is selling more.

less than 6 Millions at Retail is something that is not aceptable for a main game of a franchise like Halo, if was Uncharted 4's sales, everyone would be saying that the game floped, i think that Uncharted 4, will break Halo 5's numbers in his first, or second week.

By all rights, if it died, it wouldn't be selling now... Halos don't sell after the first three months. This one is still doing it, so either the original public is slow on the uptake, or Halo's audience is simply changing as I predicted. I will stay with the later since I can safely say that Halo 5 is no Halo 3 and both games are different from each other...
