Forums - Gaming Discussion - Anyone else think 2014 was better than 2015?

With the exception of a few titles (Until Dawn, Life is Strange, RoTR, and a couple of others), the games that I actually spent money on have been just a long string of disappointments. There were some great titles that simply don't appeal to me like Witcher 3 but for my money and tastes, 2016 should be a much better year.

2015>2014, also 2016>2015 IMO

Proud to be a Californian.

2014 was so boring for me, especially on PS4/xone, I remember that year seeing many threads with people have the same feelings, only at the end of 2014 it changed. 2015 was a good year and especially now with so many games in my backlog. 2016 has so many releases, sure many I not care about but I already have atleast 20 titles I am interested in for PS4/Xone and more to come.

2016 could be also a year of dissapointment with so many games I hope they improve, Ratchet and clank...Tales of Berseria (please don't be to much of Zeristria)/Star ocean V/Scalebound/no more skies (please let the hype be worth it).

- You havent played Fatal Frame 5
- You havent played MGS5
- You havent played XCX (at least i think you would have liked it)

- and most importainly you havent played Bloodborne

I felt like 2015 was filled with more quality content. 2014 had some of the best games we got recently, but they were just a few... I felt like 2015 was a bit better (cause it had more quantity). That said, 2016 should beat both combined. :P

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

This year was leaps and bounds better than last year. As you guys know I let my cousin borrow my PS4 because I didnt feel I was missing out. Seems I was right, but I have a lot to look forward to next year on my PS4.

I mean, 2014 was better for Nintendo.

2015 was better for everyone else.

Let's see, for me: (besides remasters)
2014:
Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze
Mario Kart 8
Smash Bros
Advanced Warfare
Titanfall

2015:
Mario Party 10
Splatoon
Black Ops 3
Lego Jurassic World
Star Wars Battlefront
Rainbow Six Siege
Fallout 4

I would say this year has a slight edge for me.

Bloodborne, Metal Gear, RoTR, Rocket League, MKX, Arkham Knight, Until Dawn, Halo 5, FALLOUT 4. Best Cod in the past 2 years.

Nah this year was leagues better.

There's only 2 races: White and 'Political Agenda'
2 Genders: Male and 'Political Agenda'
2 Hairstyles for female characters: Long and 'Political Agenda'
2 Sexualities: Straight and 'Political Agenda'

You must be crazy to think 2014 is a better year compared to 2015.
2014 is in fact one of the worst year in gaming with so many over-hyped games ending up as disappointments
(the big three- Desiny, watch dogs, titanfall), so many many many delays, games riddled with bugs and glitches at launch (ac unity), and a bunch of mediocre games that everyone seems to have forgotten.
I will admit that the wii u had a good year with mario kart, smash bros, and bayonetta but as far as gaming industry wise, NO!
Majority of 2014's game of the year and best game of 2014 was dragon age inquisition which was a good game but extremely repetitive and tedious while 2015's goty is witcher 3 which totally blows da:i out of the water. Witcher 3 is in a whole different league compared to da:i, and not to mention 2015 gave us fallout 4, bloodborne, mgsv, batman arkham knight, tomb raider, halo 5 which are all better than 2014's best game dragon age.
2015 is by far better than 2014 industry wise.
