One dumb thing about the game is that it doesn't save gold trophies if you didn't beat your previous best time on the given cup. No gold trophy means that your completion percentage doesn't go up. Trophies and best times should be saved separately, how could they not realize this?

That is the most annoying thing for me at the moment. Had a crazy good time in the second hypersonic cup but just managed to get 2nd. Already beaten this exact same cup with gold 3 times but i can't seem to get a better time. Man, that really sucks..

- The respawns work by putting you back just before the bit that killed you. You don't get to skip a jump because you failed it, you get put back before it to try again.

- Shin'en's games have always been quite difficult, they typically target the kind of gamers who grew up with the 4th and 5th gen, back when games were not afraid to kick you in balls while you were down. The original WipeOut, for example, was brutally hard. Their games essentially play like N64/PS1 games with modern graphics.

You make it sound like later WipEouts weren't

You reviewed it like it cost you 60$/€.

We paid 15 for it.

My review is: Its fun and it looks good! Go get it!

I do advise stcking to the lower difficulties though. Wipeout had the same problem when it got too fast. Its just too punishing (though it also makes you feel like a pro when you make it).

Well, I do think that every game should get the same treatment. Its not just because they have a lower budget that they should get a pass.Every game no matter the size has the potential to be great, and should be treated like so.Having said that, I do find that taking away points for vad crash animations is a little too harsh for just a small detail

From a critical pov it could make sense. But can we really expect a game developed by a small team to have the same graphic quality of a AA game developed by a hundread people? I think theres really no comparison possible.

But this only applies to graphic quality and content. If you review a game on the basis of: Is this fun or not? Then all games can be viewed in the same light.

Also wish there were some shortcuts, like go off a jump and if you time it properly hit the other side if you want. Maybe there is and I just have not seen it yet.

There are. Zvil Raceway, for instance, has a shortcut hidden behind a waterfall, while Mueller Pacific has a shortcut where you can jump onto the roof of a tunnel and get a bunch of orbs and a boost pad.
