Forums - Gaming Discussion - Why I think a episodic Final Fantasy VII Remake could be a good thing (minor spoilers).

Tagged games:

I loved the original, it's one of my all time favorites. I put hunderds of hours into to game and still remember all the secrets even now.

The choice to release the remake in episodes (or multipart, whatever you want to call it) seems a bit cheap at first, or more like a cash-in for SE. But all the complainers should just chill and wait until it's out. Reading comments stating they drobbed the ball because the fans just want the same game with better graphics is very short sighted. Of course seeing the game with new graphics is cool, but if it's just the same game the experience will (maybe) feel a bit flat in the end for all who already played the orginal for hunderds of hours.

I'm sure SE will put enough of the old heart in the game for fans to recognize. This remake has made me very excited and i will love to explore and experience a story with characters i know so well in a new way.

I've thought for years that this should be how they remake FF7. It would just be too much to release in one game to be faithful to the original, and the investment would not be worth it. I'm curious to see how much extra content we will get. I certainly would not mind the story being fleshed out more.

The thing is. If they're making each "part" full games. The years of making the game, is caused by that choice. Instead of making the same length game, they chose, as an example, to make 3 50 hour games. 150 hour games, in total. So of course it take years. We're buying multiple full games, to begin with. The point is: Why does FF7 need multiple series games one after another?

It feels less and less like a remake. And more like a combined version of everything related to the 7 line, instead. I'd honestly just want the ff7 game. And nothing else. I didn't care about all the other games/backstory made later. Now, if this theory is true. It be nice to just have the FF7 be one of the game parts. And I just buy that. And need nothing else.
