Forums - Sony Discussion - The truth about PSX reactions: you are all spoiled and complain too much

I am so glad the OP is here to tell us how to think!

We are so silly for hoping for a lot and I really should never expect anything of anyone - that is how one succeeds in life!

Prediction for console Lifetime sales:

Wii:100-120 million, PS3:80-110 million, 360:70-100 million

[Prediction Made 11/5/2009]

3DS: 65m, PSV: 22m, Wii U: 18-22m, PS4: 80-120m, X1: 35-55m

I gauruntee the PS5 comes out after only 5-6 years after the launch of the PS4.

I agree though I'm here too. The keynote was meant for those of us here attending more then those watching at home. All those indies and vr people complain about are here and more. While I wasn't able to see any of the vr I've had a blast playing the indies with the people who made or are still making the game as well as being able to play the games from the big studios.

I went to the event and thought it was pretty great. It was a mix of current and upcoming games. Yes there were some boring moments during the key note, and it would have been cool to have some bombshells like there were at E3 this year, but they can only show what is ready to be shown.

My biggest gripe about the event was that they didn't have nearly enough demo stations for PSVR and so the RSVPs were taken almost instantly (I didn't get to try it out). In fact there should have been more demo stations in general - the lines were way too long and slow moving.

Well said. I thought it was good too. Like you said, it's all about the fan service.  I own all consoles and love games wether they are on PS, Xbox or Nintendo's system.  What about that Uncharted clip...WOW. Can't wait to play it this spring.

Better be careful calling people ignorant. Even though it only means "to not know or be aware of something", I got banned before because calling a spade a spade is, using the correct terminology, apparently, "insulting"

You know what, I'm getting a little sick and tired of Sony fans suggesting people like me are 'spoiled' or, as the other thread said 'lacking wit.' I had moderate expectations going into the show and I've certainly got my wits about me. I gave it 6/10 for good reason and I'm not prepared to break it down in order to justify my score. If you truly think something is great you get attacked by XB1 fans and if you're honest about being disappointed you get attacked by Sony fans. I'm sick to the back teeth of this polarising mindset. I'm sure that those who actually went to the show feel more than happy with the two days but as a viewer of the ONE event, I just couldn't be as enthusiastic as I'm sure Sony expected me to be.

The PS5 Exists.

It would have been a very good conference if Sony Bend didnt lie to me saying they would be there to announce their new game, though Ni No Ku Ni 2 saved the show , it was a real big surprise

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

Do you know what the problem here is? The problem here isn't for people being not allowed to be dissapointed it's for those kind of people posting that:

"SHIT" "WORST CONFERENCE EVER" "0/10" "LOL WHAT A TRASH SHOW LOL" "2/10" "PEOPLE PAID MONEY FOR THAT SHIT Lol" "INDIESTATION CONFIRMED" "SHITSTATION LOL" "1/10 Waste of my Life"

If you don't see anything wrong with these type of comments I start and copy and paste them in every thread because why not? seems like nobody can normally talk about it what they liked and hated, what they thought was great or dissapointing what games they are going to buy and so on.

I guess it was silly from me and some other folks to expect some kind of conversation to have with other gamers about this event (at least on vgchartz it wasn't as bad like neogaf were I guess the same people copy pasted there own comments the entire time, but still bad)

But I must say that the tone of the op is wrong like really wrong you don't tell someone ignorant for having a different opinion.

I enjoyed the show for what it was. A get-together with fans celebrating all kinds of video games.

With last year's PSX in mind I didn't expect to see things like God of War, AGENT, Crash Bandicoot, The Legend of Dragoon, Bend Studio's open world horror IP, etc. Those announcements will always be saved for E3.

It was quite similar to last year:

- Trailers from 1st/2nd party titles
2014: Uncharted 4, Bloodborne, The Order: 1886, Drawn to Death, Kill Strain, Tearaway, MLB 15
2015: Uncharted 4, Street Fighter V, Ratchet & Clank, King of Fighters XIV, Modern Zombie, MLB 16

- A big 3rd party exclusive reveal
2014: Street Fighter V
2015: Ni no Kuni 2/Ace Combat 7

- The Japanese flavor
2014: Persona 5, Yakuza 5, Resident Evil R 2
2015: Ni-Oh, Yakuza 0, Final Fantasy VII Remake

- A former PC exclusive revealed for PS4
2014: Killing Floor 2
2015: Paragon/Battleborn

- A huge bunch of indie games

BUT! They seriously dropped the ball regarding VR. Richard Marks (head of PlayStation Magic Lab) made a really disappointing tech demonstration of PSVR. He actually managed to make the 2009 tech demo of PS Move look highly professional and exciting in comparison.

It's like they purposedly made a bad showing just to be able to keep using the excuse that VR is impossible to sell unless people try it themselves.

If PSVR keeps its Q1 2016 launch window this was their last chance to convince us (the hardcore gamers and potentially early buyers) about its quality as a device for enhancing immersive gaming.

They failed big time.

Golem, Ace Combat 7, Robot Golf, Modern Zombie and Eagle Flight looked somewhat interesting but we barely saw any gameplay.

Why not show VR gameplay from some of the games below (including freaking Gran Turismo) that people actually care about for other reasons than being a VR demo.

Adrift
Allison Road
ARK: Survival Evolved
Battlezone
Dreams
Driveclub VR
EVE: Valkyrie
Final Fantasy XIV
Gran Turismo Sport
London Heist: The Getaway
No Man's Sky (rumored)
Project CARS VR
RIGS: Mechanized Combat
Robinson: The Journey
Tekken 7
Trackmania Turbo
Until Dawn: Rush of Blood

People who were expecting backwards compatibility. KeK. It ain't happening through physical media. Deal with it.
