Impressive. And apparently since MHX is already above MH4G on the Japanese eShop all-time ranking, that would put the total figure near 1.7m.

The impressive thing is the 3ds boost!:P Completely unexpected! Given the decline in 2015  regarding 2014 sales due to saturation and new 3ds/xl last year release!

It sold 40k more than same week last year and last year was the new 3ds/xl 3ds period! Monster hunter x is not a straght sequel, also you would think that most of the fanbase is already on 3ds, since MH4 AND MH4G!

I'm an optimistic guy as you Know and I was expecting 70k sales, 100% boost... (35k->70k)

New 3dxl bundle did much better than I was thinking! Also it seems that people decided in holidays to finally upgrade to New 3ds/xl... New 3ds/xl effect is not dead as many people were thinking, it has still future...

People were just waiting for holidays...

Many MH fans are upgrading to N3DS I think. The new model really feels better for MH and while 4G launched together with it, X is the first original MH game since N3DS launch.

And Yeah with almost 5 years, it is still selling this much! The handheld market or the gaming market in Japan is basically on the 3DS hands. With Pokemon + MH + AC and the newest YW!

Nice! Glad it's off to a good start. Curious how it will hold compared to 4/G.

Hopefully it makes its way westward too. I loved 4 Ultimate, but I'm not too keen on waiting a year for XG or XU or whatever.

Oh Lawd... Things are looking bright for the franchise, with its increasing popularity in the West as well. Hopefully Capcom won't screw it up.
