Look... I LOVE Zelda alot and it's my favorite franchise of all time.... but I have NEVERED finished a game first time without a walkthrough. I have finished games on my own before on the 2nd time but NEVER the 1st time. It would take a genius for you to play a Zelda game without a walkthrough or guide. Am the only person to do this? If so I feel really stupid to do this. Zelda games are hard to complete, but its fun!       

I was able to do it with Ocarina of Time however it took me more than a month to do so. That Water Temple still gives me nightmares.

I stopped playing Oot because of this I didnt want to keep using a guide which is a shame considering all the hype around that game

Huh ? I've finished all of my Zelda games without guide the first time, I supposed I'm kind of a genius.

I've actually used a guide / walkthrough at some point for most of the Zelda games I've beaten, and I got no shame in my game!

I've never used a guide for a Zelda game, and I've completed all of them.

I think I checked it once for each one.

The only time I used a guide for a good chunk was for Twilight Princess because I got the guide for free with my Nintendo Power subscription and felt I should use it. Used it up until Arbiter's Ground and by that point, I felt I was kind of ruining the game for myself. I never really needed it, I just used it because I felt I should make use of the free thing I got.

That being said, I almost always need to look up a guide at least once for a specific puzzle or moment in the games because I'm just too stuck. It's usually for the 2D games. I still beat like 98% of the game without looking at a guide though.
