Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo of Japan now selling the Wii U Gamepad Separately

"Kotaku first noticed that the Japanese Nintendo website has the GamePad listed separately for about 12,800 yen, which translates to around $104 or £70. That’s not a bad price for the Pad and depending on repair costs, it could end up being cheaper in the long run just to buy a new one from Nintendo, instead of paying to have it shipped and repaired.?

Does this mean NX BC because its been 3 years since the Wii U gamepad launched and you cant play co op with two gamepads.

Nintendo of Japan doesn't exist mate.
That's just for replacements of defect gamepads. Nintendo want the people to play on their Wii U until the NX launch in late 2017. So they offer them new gamepads if they need them.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."
