Forums - PC Discussion - Versatility is Why PC Gaming is My Main Platform.

Yeah, this is why I love PC gaming, you get so many options.

I don't agree with your last point though, mainly cause I don't regularly use emulators, and I prefer playing games on their original hardware.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

I agree with just about every point you made apart from this one.

"Can I play older console games with much better visual quality and even performance than the originals, including 6th generation PS2, Dreamcast, Wii, and GC games?"

I don't WANT to play old games with new polish and performance. I want to play them as they were originally created and released. I also want to play them on original hardware, with an original controller on a CRT.

I understand, there is a nostalgia behind playing on the original platform. But you can't dispute that the option is there for those who still enjoy older games, but would like to mitigate some flaws (in their eyes) of age. That is what makes PC gaming great. People get to choose what they do with it and how they can do it. :)

Yeah, you're right. I was only speaking about my personal tastes. There's no question about the versatility of PC gaming.

I'm pretty sure you can do all that with a PC.

I can play a cart of Ninja Gaiden, on an original NES on PC? Please explain this black magic lol

Everything is possible with some creativity and PC mod tools :)

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

It's been about variety of genres and different experiences for me ever since C64, it still is.

I play on PC only for higher frame rates because I'm an idiot, obviously.

whats wrong with having a mid range gaming pc and a console? also i kind of prefer my achievements in one place.

All those options are pretty much what convinced me to fully move over to PC gaming 2+ years back. That and I love the sales, backlogs, mods and always trying to find that nice sweet spot balance between 60fps and the visuals.

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

Far out man, changed my life.

CPU: Ryzen 7950X
GPU: MSI 4090 SUPRIM X 24G
Motherboard: MSI MEG X670E GODLIKE
RAM: CORSAIR DOMINATOR PLATINUM 32GB DDR5
SSD: Kingston FURY Renegade 4TB
Gaming Console: PLAYSTATION 5

So where are your option to choose a different graphicscard and cpu other than Nvidia and intel if you really want to max out a game? where is the option to buy a drm free physical game for almost every relevant game? Where is the option to use a different platform than steam if many games arent avaible in other places?
PC has a lot of limitations as well, and it doesnt take as long to find them as a pc gamer.

I prefer playing older console games without emulation on real hardware, they maybe run with lower resolution but therefor glitchfree.

I like PC gaming because I can keep my hardcore porn next to my hardcore games or even in the same folder.

And I can also mod my games to blur the line between the two.
