Forums - PC Discussion - XSEED announce Little King's Story; Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus and Xanadu Next ports for PC in the west

Nice, will definitely pick up Shinovi Versus. Hopefully it sells well enough for them to also do Estival Versus on PC.
Little Kings Story is also awesome. Hopefully its better optimized than the Vita port
All 3 games however are likely to cop shit from PC elitists though because of locked FPS or lack of options.

The Steam version of Little King's Story will be a port of the Wii version of the game, which XSEED released in 2009.

Good, because no other version of this game exists or was ever contemplated.

More like the gameplay is generally mediocre for the sake of the fan service. It's a series that puts fan service first and gameplay in a distant second place, and that just makes for an awful game unless you really want to see anime boobs. None of the Senran Kagura games that have come west so far have been good, and all of them have suffered due to feeling tedious after an hour of dealing with, more often than not, slipshod mechanics.

They're lazy games that deserve to sit in a bargain bin and nothing more. Considering all the quality that we miss, it's almost offensive that this junk keeps getting brought over.

Again, out of interest, which Senran Kagura did you play to form this opinion?  The 3DS versions or the Vita version?  Or did you import Estival Versus?

Regardless, that wasn't really my experience of Shinovi Versus at all.  I thought it was a perfectly servicable brawler, not particularly better or worse than any other I've played.  Yes, it puts fanservice front and centre, but I was quite surprised that it didn't really seem to do that at the sake of gameplay.  There's a solid game underneath it all.

I haven't played the 3DS games, so maybe things are different with those.  But the 3DS entries seem dead after the weak sales of Deep Crimson, so perhaps you got your wish there.

Regardless, it really... I dunno... disappoints me, I suppose is the way to put it, that people think like you do (and I know I'm posting all this in reply to you here, but it's something I've seen loads of times before, so it's just a general rant more than anything).  "I don't like something and therefore other oeople shouldn't have it".

I mean, I'm one of those people who is there on XSEED's boards; there on NISA's boards; on IFI's boards etc., asking for all sorts of stuff which hasn't yet come to the west while other stuff gets announced.  It blows.

But, y'know, these games have fans.  They're not bad games just because I don't like them.  They don't deserve to stay Japan-only just because I'm not going to personally buy them.  Clearly, something like Senran Kagura is selling extremely well for XSEED, given that we've gotten every entry and now a PC port.

I dunno.  You're entitled to your opinion and all, and you're entitled to say whatever you like on these forums as long as it's within the rules.  But all this calling a series "junk" that I'd question whether you've even played and asking for "literally anything else" (warning: there are a LOT of much worse games both mechanically and in terms of fanservice coming out of Japan, so be careful with your hyperbole) just comes across as very poor form.

Y'know, I don't like the majority of what EA puts out these days.  It's crap.  I'd rather they went back to funding Westwood/Bullfrog esque studios to make the small, niche stuff that appeals to the audience that I'm a part of.  But I'm not going to moan about that in a FIFA 16 thread because it is what it is.

Oh come on. I know that was your thing back in the day, but it wasn't that bad.

Little King´s Story on Steam!! YES!!!

That's one of the best Wii exclusives and I don't have it anymore sadly, so this is great news for me!!

Take a storybook-style talke of a young child's fevered dream and replace it with modern generic teen anime. DO. NOT. WANT. >=( >=( >=( >=(

Psh, being able to make a law where all citizens have to wear swimsuits seems like a good deal to me.

Honestly, I think you're exaggerating the differences. The gameplay is all still there, it just has more of a plot (not that it wasn't bad in the Wii game). Did you play it?

New Little King's Story is one of those things that always gets blown out of proportion.

I mean, I prefer the Wii version - no doubt. But the story is so vacant in both versions anyway that it barely makes any difference.

The whimsical, more storybook-esque nature of the Wii version is better, but hardly worth getting up in arms about. The main advantage is that it runs a hell of a lot better.

I was hoping game announcements or firm release dates of upcoming titles. PC ports mean nothing to me, oh well.

Same here.
