Or 10 million.
Includes EA Access? 10 million is way more than I expected. It did get extremely cheap on PC many times though, free on Access, and had free dlc.
Well done respawn, but I don't think a sequel would do as well. Titanfall couldn't hold onto the active online community as well as cod, and it's very daunting for new players who jump in.
Is it 10 million unique players?
Last time we got numbers it was something like 7.6 million unique players, so I think it's that. Possibly including free weekends on Origin and whatnot.

VGC could still be right. It doesn't include digital sales from PC + 360 + XBO and copies bundled with XBO.

And we don't really know this is sold, as it more likely is the good 'ol "unique players" spin every company has used sometimes.

Pretty much. Could be sales, but he certainly doesn't say it.
Could be "unique players" for example

Yeah which means rented copies + used copies are counted. For example Quantic Dream once said it had sold 2 million copies of Heavy Rain but there were 3 million unique players. So the difference between one 10 million and the other is definitely not negligible indeed lol
Titanfall was at 8m unique players at December 2014.
While the game has died out since then I doubt there've only been 2m new players.
Also new copies are dirt cheap anyway.
