I'd imagine many migrants 'selected' to go to Poland for example, would refuse, and travel to their preferred country afterwards anyway. Quite amusing how nobody wants to go to Russia and other Eastern European countries.

When talking about people fleeing warzones Russia is probably the worst example of countries to go to. It wasn't that long ago that they turned Ukraine in to a war zone remember...

its was the US who started a not so succesful coup to install a more west friendly president in the ukraine.

and most refugees from the ukraine are fleeing into russia, not western europe.

Can you blame them though really?

Put yourself in their shoes and you have to start a new life somewhere else with kids in tow. Obviously you probably would choose Germany or UK or Sweden over Poland or Hungary where the job you can get pays more and the standard of living is higher.

This is totally different. Honestly it's insulting to Hungary and Poland and stating that refugees have a right to refuse help from these countries is just wrong and increases tension. If I were a refugee, I sure as hell wouldn't be refusing help from any countty.

No of course not, but there is only so many people that can fit into the wealthier countries.

The Refugees are mainly in the UN camps though and do not have ability/resources t travel thousands of miles across Europe. These are mainly migrants who are moving of their free will, so they do inherently have a choice.

Yes. Several millions are fled from Ukraine to Russia.

Two more things.
1. Those Syrian/Libyan refugees are the result of West politics in Libya/Syria. So it seems like a right thing to do for them from moral point of view. Europe and USA put their countries into bloody terror. So its just normal if they will feed/cover those who suffer.

2. Another reason why this refugees are not in Russia is that we are a sovereing country, you know. And we have borders. And this borders are closed for unwanted. And in the EU once somebody settled in Italy/Greece - its almost impossible to stop them from moving say to Germany.

They really are a problem, the immigrants aren't new to Italy since it's one of the closest countries to Africa, but we're already having problems with those who arrived in the last 4/5 years so I'm really concerned about how we'll handle those who are coming now. It's sad to say so because it sounds racist but many of them are really troublesome, beeing poor and not working they obviously can't pay stuff like tickets for transports causing many slowdowns as well as fights sometimes. But the biggest problem with them are the criminal organizzations: excluding those who start working with mafia or simply dedicate to criminalc activities, it's been estimated that for every 50€ that the Italian State gives to a needy immigrant about 48€ are extorted from them by crimminal organizations :/ . Don't get me wrong, there are exceptions, I know immigrants that adapted perfetcly and that behave better than many Italians...

im pretty sure russia lets in refugees if they come to  the borders. and those refugees will settle in the richer western parts of russia and not far east.

and as sovereign country, you could do the world a favour and nuke riad next time they finance a terrorattac in russia.

Well, its a pity, but in 90-s/start of 2000s it was USA and EU who supported and financed muslim terrorists in Chechnia (calling them the rebels of course). And nuking USA/EU is not on the agenda of any sane man.

I think that what Europe is doing won't solve anything. If you take care of 10.000 refugees, 10.000 others will arrive tomorrow, and thousands will still die trying to cross the sea. Europe's action is just like a band aid on a wooden leg (french expression, don't know if it exists in english ^^).

You have to secure the crossing with official and better boats, but it's expensive and will really increase the refugees number. The other solution is to prevent the crossing, by destroying the dangerous clandestine ships when they're empty for example, while trying to solve the problems in the country of origin (Syria, Egypt...). Easier said than done, but without hope in these countries, there will be no end to this refugees crisis, and it could end badly in Europe...

With what's happening now, we will still see drowned kids on the shore (the reactions about this photo are ridiculous...), and we will always struggle to take care of everyone.
