It looks very generic in how modern it is. On the other hand, it doesn't look too bad and the old one was showing its age. I suppose the new one is more stylish but distances Google from people.

It amazes me that a slight change from a serif font to a sans serif font can be (a) considered a logo change and (b) can actually generate discussion.
