wow nintendos revenue is pretty low even in 2012, just shows that the wii was just a bubble. Keep in mind that PlayStation 3 in 2012 had free online multiplayer while MS got free money for Multiplayer from its users, yet they still were just even.

Do keep in mind that this is just showing revenue generated from sales of the consoles itself.

It does not account for any other revenue stream.

so that makes PS4 sucess even higher

Sony incentivized people to sub to Plus even when it wasn't required for online play.  Hell I never play online and I'm subbed till 2017

Yes, but it was very few people (around 2 million). XBox at the time had over 20 million Gold subscribers. That's a huge difference (a billion dollars per year)

When you have to have a subscription to do almost anything online, of course the number will be higher. PS+ was (and still is) just a rewards program on PS3. It's not like people NEED it on that platform.

The thing is home console market is crowded. Plus PC gaming has gained a lot of momentum. Home consoles wont go extinct. But the market is too small for three players. One player will find difficult to continue.

O_o

I thought PC sales where down by alot, discrete graphics cards sales down ect.

The PC users say thats because people cant be bothered to build gameing pcs, but instead just buy consoles, and say console market is up compaired to last gen.

The market is big enough for 3 players.

I sell computers for a living, and I can confirm that those numbers are also heavily influenced by prebuild sales due to prebuilds generally being cheaper now than most custom builds. Another factor is a lot of people game on PC without the proper equipment, opting instead to run on internal graphics (for whatever reason). There are also a lot of games out there that don't need good specs to play, so while video card sales do reflect the industry, it's only a piece of the industry, not the whole thing.

Well hope they quit with other division and focusing on consoles (except TV, Audio, and VR of-course)
