What makes me doubt about the X1 mini is the size they claim for that new version.

The BR drive doesn't take that much space, and the hard drive and the cooler for the APU (probably still produced at the same 28nm) will still take too much room to make it 2/3 smaller.

This, a lot of people seem to think you can make a console smaller on a whim. PS4 Slim and XBOne Slim will launch late next year. Possibly not even until 2017

Indeed.

They'll probably wait until the 16nm process is mature enough, and then launch the big revisions like XboxOne Mini or PS4 Slim or whatever they are called. So end of 2016 or 2017.

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

If it release, I will sell my X1 to my brother and buy the mini on launch day :). Digital it's the only way to go!

Not sure how many people would want to lock themselves into digital only.

almost all pc gamers do it

I thinks its fake. Before the X1 came out, we heard a similar rumor about a discless X1 but nothing came of it.

What the Ps4 designers did is no wizardry, if the managed to do it with a console that is more powerful than the X1 i dont see a problem achieving this feature on the X1.

Sony is simply better hardware designers. That is why they went with such a large design on the XBOne and left the power brick out.

Really, PS4 sounds like a jet engine and runs hot, X1 is the complete opposite. Owned both and will go with whatever is quieter in the not long distant future.

Great news if true :)
Would get one of those babies right away for my bed room.

I'll never understand why people think Xbox One is so large, or a "behemoth" as this article calls it. Maybe because of it's shape? Either way, it's an attractive piece of hardware, I don't think they will ever do an Xbox One mini though.

1/3 of the size of the current? Even without the blu-ray drive, would that really be doable?

According to this ridiculous picture of how much space is in there, yeah, 1/3rd is possible, and planned.

Is this the Xbox One Go, the long awaited Microsoft's answer to Sony's PSP Go ?

I would be all for the Xbox One with no Blu-Ray drive. I moved to all digital awhile ago because I got tired of swapping disks. My HTPC plays my blurays for me because I just rip them anyway.

This would prevent my 14 month old from ejecting the occasional disk too.

Bring it on MS!!
