Forums - Movies & TV - If Avatar has a 10 or 20 year anniversary re release can it pass the 3 billion mark?

Should be able to break 3 I would think.

I don't think Avatar is as beloved as its box office might have us believe. It would be like that Phantom Menace rerelease.

umm Pocahontas came out in 1995 so i guess its alittle to late for a 20 yr

I doubt the next Avatar will manage more than 1.5 billion or so. An Avatar re-release could very well do it though.

I don't think so. Avatar did well because it was in 3D and that was new and special at the time.

If they do a re-release I think it can reach 3 billion.

There was a Phantom Menace re-release?

In 3D!  They were going to do the whole saga but TPM3D killed that.

So much this. For the best box office of all time it sure has been forgotten. I actually wonder if any of its sequels will even be capable of breaking the $1b mark.

Do people have much nostalgia for Avatar? I saw it in theaters and then forgot about it. I am trying to think of character names of quotable lines of dialog from it, and nothing comes to mind. Does it get referenced in pop culture in 2015?
