Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Why doesn't Nintendo make more games for it's systems?

So I was just talking about what would make the NX succeed, and besides a sub $200 price, I would say GAMES GAMES GAMES!  I mean look what they could do:

Year 1:

-Super Mario

-Metroid

-Paper Mario

-Donkey Kong

-Pikmin

Year 2:

-Yoshi

-Kirby

-Mario Kart

-Zelda

-Monster Hunter (Ik not 1st Party)

Year 3:

-Star Fox

-Mario Party

-F-Zero

-Battalion Wars

-Splatoon

^^^And this doesn't  even include NEW IP's - which we could expect at least a few.  If Nintendo doesn't have enough people/studios to do this then they just flat out need to hire more people.

Prediction for console Lifetime sales:

Wii:100-120 million, PS3:80-110 million, 360:70-100 million

[Prediction Made 11/5/2009]

3DS: 65m, PSV: 22m, Wii U: 18-22m, PS4: 80-120m, X1: 35-55m

I gauruntee the PS5 comes out after only 5-6 years after the launch of the PS4.

Ita not like they are not trying. They are supporting 2 systems, developing another AND making games for it.So actually its impressive Nintendo is even msnaging making the number of games it makes. And buying/making new studios cost money, so its not a matter of just go buying, it needs to check if its viable money-wise, and needs to find talents...

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

@ bolded: Once again i'm really glad anybody that actually thinks this doesn't work for Nintendo.

Also I think Nintendo should just either create more studios or acquire studios to increase their game output.

The really don't have enough people at all...

Nintendo Employees: >3000

EA Employees: 9370

And Nintendo is a hardware company... So yea... The fact that they can even release this many games is amazing

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

Well it is very clear that they should only have one system.

You can't just make more games by just wanting to.. they don't have enough people. But tbh, I think they are making enough games, but the reason for droughts is the lack of 3rd party

[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]

if Nintendo has a 10000 employee and 70% of it is allocated to game development then they can produce enough IPs based on your year 1-3. But they aren't big enough. And $200 or less home console pricing won't be good for Nintendo.

Then they can kiss another gen goodbye if they continue with their same business model.

They're going as fast as they humanly can.

The reason why this is a relevant issue is due to game droughts, and especially due to a lack of third party support on Wii U.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Cause making games is difficult and expensive and entails financial risk?
