PlayStation 4 version developed on Unreal Engine 4.

Square Enix has announced Dragon Quest XI for PlayStation 4 and 3DS. (Update: And Nintendo NX.)  

The game is directed by Takeshi Uchikawa. Both versions share the same story, but differ in visuals and partially in development teams. View artwork of the main character here.

PlayStation 4 Version

The core development staff consists of a team at Square Enix. Because of the high amount of resources required to make the game, Square Enix is working with Orca on development. It’s being made on Unreal Engine 4.

That would be great! I've always enjoyed the story of Dragon Quest but the gameplay bores me to no end. The only turn-based game I've ever enjoyed is Pokémon.

Heresy! The reason why DQ is always loved and has it's loyal fans (unlike the FF series that wants to reinvent the wheel for every entry in the series) is because of it's old school RPG gameplay. DQ is defined buy it's traditional gameplay and not it's story. Seriously, Dragon Quest was never about story.

Well it seems to work really well with FFXV.
