Me either...

We gave it to African Americans, Irish, gays, women, Islam. Now please give us the same tolerance!

Heh.

Well as you say yourself - that is the nature of christianty:

Matthew 5:12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

John 15:18 If the world hate you, you know that it hated me before it hated you.

John 15:20 Remember the word that I said to you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.

Romans 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

2 Corinthians 12:10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

1 Thessalonians 3:4 For truly, when we were with you, we told you before that we should suffer tribulation; even as it came to pass, and you know.

I think what the last sentence means don't be a hypocrite but he was trying to find a better wording that came off not so well.

My opinion on this subject, is that this is the internet. People forget thier manners when they are anonymous, hence whatever offensive things they may say here does not reflect who they are in real life and most opinions was never really meant as a disrespect but rather an explanation of ones belief or ideals.

Of course, there are always haters but like the console wars, every sides has them.

What's important is that good people find common ground to do good, no matter the race, belief or country. Which is even harder to do over the internet.

II think the tolerance for Christians and other major religions is still way above of what's necessary.

The reason why Christians are attacked in certain countries, is that they have way too much influence. Influence that is invading the lives of a majority of non-Christians. As soon as that influence is gone, the attacks will stop and they will be regarded as harmless and be left alone.

Germany is a good example. The influence of Christianity or other religions on society and politics is almost non existent, which is why we're able to tolerate(ignore) them all.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Yes. People like to think they can live the way they want to and Christianity says you can't. Therefore they hate it and don't like people who do because deep down they know there is more to life than be a hunk of flesh that is a bio product of millions of years of random evolution.

Lots of mistakes / accidents / and actions people later regretted have been done again and again because they thought that "deep down they knew" they were thinking or doing what was right. That "deep down knowing something" thing means nothing.

not what I was talking about. not reffering to what some people percieve as intuition.

its the sense that there is something else out there. this is why people look for life on other planets. people search for humanity's piece in the bigger picture. Its the feeling that there "is" a bigger picture. Where does that come from? Athiest turn to looking for life on other planets, others turn to religion. But the fact that sense exist cannot be denied.

Even if that sense does exist, it has no bearing on the truth. Saying that "deep down they know" when they claim to not know is just rude.

OT: Heterosexuals are not being pushed around on the internet. That claim even sounds insane. There are assholes that attempt to push around christians, that is for sure. This goes both ways though. The problem is politics, the fact that certain religions are allowed to have so much influence in the lives of those that aren't members of that particular religion. In America especially, christianity is often shoved into politics and endorsed by government, even though the constitution states this shouldn't be the case.
