You made it very unclear that this is NOT someone from Nintendo speaking, but a 3rd party developer.

I must say that there are some very interesting WiiWare titles coming.

Eternity's Child probably the best (and this one has been moved from XBLA to WiiWare, due to Microsofts inflexibility according to the creator of the game).

LostWinds, World of Goo and FF: My life as a king look very promissing.

I just copied and pasted the headline and toned it down, just the messenger.

"Back off, man. I'm a scientist."

Your theories are the worst kind of popular tripe, your methods are sloppy, and your conclusions are highly questionable! You are a poor scientist. Especially if you think the moon landing was faked.

I can't wait till MrStickball reads this.

ok...So you are telling me the following games are crap...

Streets of rage 2
sonic
sonic2
Undertow
Castlevania
Omega 5
Assault Heroes
Street fighter 2
UMK3
Fatal Fury Special
N+
Rez HD
Contra
Puzzle fghter HD
TMNT the arcade game

These games come to mind as i'm sitting at work...im sure there are twice as many great games.

The most important thing is that they all have online play. Something none of the Wii downloads have.

?????

Tetris and Dr Mario have confirmed online.

I think your mistaken it with the Virtual Console, which has obviously no online, since they are original games from consoles that didn't have online.

If I'm reading it correctly the dev didn't say that the games on XBLA were full of shit, but that Microsofts cooperation and XBLA service is.
I'm not saying anything about that though, cause I don't have a clue. I always hear positive stories about MS online, but there are quite a number of games changing from XBLA to WiiWare, even though Nintendo's online has not been really proved, so clearly something must be going on.

Then I'd have to say thier real competitors are over at PSN, not XBLA. Sony has been the company championing independent and small games on the PSN without the restrictions of XBLA. There's no doubt that there's a sea of crap that the good titles can get lost in on XBLA though. For every Alien Hominid or Rez HD there's a sea of crappy 80's arcade games.

Of course, do any of those statements jive with the exitence of Nintendo's Virtual Console? The VC is nothing but retro and it does huge numbers. WiiWare's actual competition is on its' own platform in the form of the VC, in my mind.

I think they mean that Wii Ware will be seperate from VC, not mixed together with classic titles.  That way, new original games don't get so easily lost in the sea of titles, whereas, apparently (I'm actually not familiar with it) on XBLA, it's al mixed together.  Probably so MS can pass off some of those old games as new titles to unaware consumers since MS initially balked at the idea of playing "old games" on the Wii.

If these guys want real success, they'll each take turns kicking Nintendo in the ass until a harddrive, or harddrive support (with direct access from an expandable, customizable Channels Menu) finally appears for the Wii.

@ bengabenga

I don't know what may have online what may not when it comes to wii...so you are most likely right on this as I didn't do any homework on Wiiware. All I know is that whenever i go on my wii and download games right now...nothing has online play.

The fact it took nintendo and developers over a year after console came out to launch a service to match xbox live arcade and PSN says everything about how much effort has been put in to this service.

This topic fails now?

moar funny pictures

Anyone who uses profanity doesn't sound very professional so I don't take them serious. With Nintendo wanting to war with Xbox live hints that they see Live as a huge success.
