Forums - Sony Discussion - Shenmue 1&2 exclusive to PS Now?

Since the game has licensing problems with Sega then I think PS Now might be the best solution for it.

What licensing problems?

I'm not sure how this would solve licensing issues with Sega, and possibly with Microsoft as well.

But for anyone who wants to play it, buy a Dreamcast. I normally don't advocate piracy, but you can burn any Dreamcast game with nothing more than a regular CD Burner and a CDR, so buying the console is well worth it.

Yu Suzuki got the okay sign from Sega to make a Shenmue 3. Shenmue 1&2 is a different matter though.

It solves Sega's problems with not wanting to do a port. Who knows how it'll work I'm not a software engineeer but streaming is probably different since PS Now is a sepatate  platform and might solve all the publishing issues since we are renting the license and not buying it.

That's not a licensing problem... O_o

Sega still owns the franchise. And it's only up to them to release the games on any platform.

And?

It's the same thing. You're making a mountain out of a mole hill.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure there would be licensing problem with streaming it as well. You do raise an interesting point about Sony somehow getting other consoles into the PSNow ecosystem.

It seems like you're the one going against Occam's razor. Sega giving the rights out to Shenmue 3 is not the same as them withholding the rights to the first two.

We'll get an HD collection for PS4 and probably XBO between fall of next year and summer of 2017.

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

PSnow cant play dreamcast games, sony has no rights on shenmue games at all not even the third
