Forums - Sony Discussion - Uncharted 4 is 30 fps

Am i the only one that doesn't care about 30fps, only if the game plays well?!

Destiny was a shit game? OKKAAAAAAAAY. It might not have been your cup of tea, but its a great shooter with some cool MMO elements.

Seems people have grown very defensive in the past few days. Why is that?

Destiny is a souless game enjoy by people with loot lust. For those of us that don't get a veiny erection for random junk after many hours of grinding, Destiny is a souless game with an awful campaign, bad story, and unbalanced multiplayer. It one of the biggest disappointments ever in gaming.

Yeah, people have been very defensive. We have a large number of people in this thread that feel 60 fps doesn't matter simply because Sony isn't focusing on it.

Or maybe we have people not caring about it because 30fps is smooth enough for most games and the lack of 60fps doesn't make the experience worse?

60fps is better than 30fps... No way around this. But it's certainly not a deal breaker for most games. My stance has always been that the most important thing is that the framerate is locked, be it at 30 or 60. It's the fluctuations that annoy my eyes. For some games, pushing for 60fps is beneficial more than for other types of games. Sim racers, fighting games and first person shooters being three examples of those. Because of their competitive nature where latency can have a great impact. But for single player experiences like Uncharted or Zelda, 30fps has never been detrimental to the experience.

I agree, 30 fps is rarely ever a deal breaker. But its funny people can't even admit 60 fps feels considerably better.

Actually, I think a fluctuating frame rate is still better than being locked at 30 fps. It can be a little jarring but still more responsive. I learned this from playing Bioshock games on 360.

How much did you play Destiny? I also thought we were way past Destiny's story being a big deal. The game is still very popular today, and guess what after 9+ months no cares now if the story sucked, and no one would care if the story was great. You dont play it for the story.

forget it. No point I already know.

No. Because fluctuating frame rates introduce stutter and that's just annoying. A perfectly locked frame rate doesn't have that problem.

Somewhere north of 40 hours. And quite frankly, I was really bored for most of it. I was using snap ins on my X1 to make my time with Destiny more tolerable.

Oh, a lot of people play Destiny? I guess that means its a fantastic game. I hear people use that logic with CoD.

Most people abandoned Destiny and it hit the bargain bin pretty quick. Its a mediocre game and we wanted to love it.

I dunno, go play Bioshock on Xbox.

Its more responsive even with fluctuation.

I know its cool to hate CoD. But they are good games. I personally dont play them every year anymore(I did from 07-11), but when I do, its fun.

I am not going to argue about Destiny anymore, you have your own reason for not liking it, fine. I enjoyed it and so did many others. I am frequently tempted to go back to it, but I know how much its sucks me in....

That's ok, PS4 emulator on PC will support 144 fps.
