Forums - Nintendo Discussion - So Amiibo fans, will you keep buying more amiibos after E3 2015?

Will you keep buying Amiibos?

Yes 90 50.56%

No 39 21.91%

NX must be free of this thing 22 12.36%

Iwata to be replaced soon 27 15.17%

Total:178

i dont get the hate here. All games work perfectly fine without those figures, and most ppl buy them for collection purpose only (like me). the new disgusting animal crossing thing is rumored to be free to download anyway. i think it is reasonable for nintendo to gain some profit from selling the AC figures required to play.
anyway, my view will change if the new AC is not free, unless they are selling the game but amiibo is not necessary.

sry for my bad english - it is not my 1st language

Yes, on that I agree.

I think this is a test for Nintendo.

If this works, Pokemon is next.

I was expecting a Haiku.

I was disappointed.

Mist opportunity.

Sorry to disappoint you.

Better luck next time.

I've always loathed the idea of locking gameplay content behind Amiibo, and I've never bought nor had any intention of buying Amiibo, but E3 2015 took Nintendo's revolting Amiibo whoring to a whole new level. It's just sad to see a company that was once one of the last beacons of hope against the tide of DLC scams now rivalling the likes of Activision.

Sorry to be so blunt, but this is exactly the kind of behaviour that's ruining gaming in my opinion.

So close yet so far

It's not quite five, seven, five

But I don't mind

I wasn't gonna stop buying them after hearing the bullshit of Animal Crossing, but i hear the title is free which is not so bad.

That’s on purpose.

If it was correct, you would not have to wait for next time

Since half the people that buy amiibos don't even use them in actual games... I think they won't even care.

It was obvious from the beginning what amiibo were inteded for. I made numerous posts about how figure based content was hugely popular in Japan and I would not be surprised to see full amiibo games.
If you didn't listen, then you shoudl rightfully be shocked.

This won't change my mind on buying ones I want, but every time they reveal Amiibo sets for games that barely use them it solidifies my opinion that they're going to run this idea into the ground with a lack of functionality and a complete oversaturation of their product line.

Nice analysis. I see one of two things happening, the first being over saturation and falling short of its vision(as you mention); the second being that there actually is a point to them and they play a major function I'm the next Nintendo console. Truthfully I view amiibo similarly to trading cards and in my mind, Nintendo would be wise to start allowing you to level up your favorite amiibo which would ultimately serve as an avatar or character in some bigger product/service that we haven't seen yet. Think pokemon games where the amiibo are the pokemon

Why not, the Amiibo I own work across a variety of games and the figures look cool as hell.
