Forums - Gaming Discussion - games getting boring?

I once took a very long hiatus away from gaming and when I came back, I was refreshed and into video games more than ever before.

Perhaps you just need a little break.

You may being growing out of a hobby. I don't think there's any shame in it.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

There just haven't been any great games. Crap, crap, crap, crap, crap, so so, crap, Bloodborne, crap, crap. Gaming has sucked this gen. Play Bloodborne. It's got its flaws but the only game on PS4 worth playing.

I really should have bought that $219 Wii U with SMB3DW because I don't want to spend much more after seeing that. Wii U has actually got good games right now, not 27 years after launch.

I was in the same state has your are now during the final year of Wii, PS3 and Xbox 360. Took an extended break playing sport and doing other stuff. I return to gaming on with the WiiU followed by Xbox One. I missed most of the major release from the end of the 7th gen consoles. I'm actually really enjoying playing remastered games since they new experience for me. Sometimes you just need to take a step back, Video games are meant to entertain and be fun, If your bored time for a break. If you ever come back your going to have an amazing catalogue of discount games to play.

youre bored by western games try out more japanese games like Tekken

You should either take a break, stop playing games completely, or start playing more linear games because sometimes linear games feel far better than open-world games even if open-world games have far more content. Scripted experiences can actually be great if developed well.

Well, I agree 'gaming' is in a pretty deep valley of unoriginality right now, but it's not yet so bad for me as it was for much of the 6th Generation where all I cared about were a couple PC games (which incidentally I ended up liking forever and ended up at the top of my all-time-favorites list) and consoles of any variety were as good as dead to me. Thank god for Wii to reignite my console-love. Anyway these days, there are at least some games I am interested in playing and console-life isn't halted yet. 3DS in particular remains a light in the darkness that is the rest of the 8th Gen. In addition, there's always the old classics I own and some of those I still play at least weekly.

Play Japanese games. You'll get back into gaming
