At Sony’s 2015 Investor Relations Day, Sony Computer Entertainment’s president and Global CEO, Andrew House, called the PS Vita a “legacy platform.” And for those who are out of the loop, Sony defines a “legacy platform” as a system they no longer work on or will have limited investments from them. For example, the PS3, PS2, PS1, PSP and PSP GO are all “legacy platforms” .
After Freedom Wars failed to meet Sony’s expectations, support as all but dwindled from a first party standpoint. It’s not all doom and gloom though, the PS Vita is doing well enough in Japan, and some of the big games launched their will come to the PS Vita in the west.
