Forums - Sony Discussion - Andrew House admits that the PS4s first party line-up this year is "a little sparse"

He said it at this years Investor Relations Day:

http://www.dualshockers.com/2015/05/27/sony-admits-1st-party-ps4-games-in-2015-are-a-little-sparse-3rd-party-full-exclusives-increasingly-difficult-to-secure/

First and foremost I'm happy that he acknowledges the issue, it's something that some people on this site are very adamant about not doing, he might only be talking about games developed by first party studios and not Sony published games (not sure what it is) but even then that's a good start. But here's my problem, while he does acknowledge the problem and says that part of the 2015 strategy is the new development and release of 1st party games

it still looks like Sony is not looking to make any investments in the expansion of their first party, be it through growth of existing studios or acquisition of new ones outside of probably Morpheus, that bugs me -.-

Well, obviously nobody cares.

Just like a pricecut, it's not really needed for Sony yet. Putting money in 3rd party support is far more valuable.

With just one game more it would be fully packed!

Its needed to make more money

It doesn't take dr. House to make that kind of diagnosis for this holiday season.
They should start making amends by announcing at least one AAA for PS+ this afternoon.

Why?

Look at the best selling games list of any Sony platform. 3rd party in one word. And let's not forget that sony themselves said that only 1/4 games make money for them.

Sony has a great first party studio line up. But Yoshida is a poor manager. And pushing graphics is a wrong philosophy.

We all knew this. 3rd party has always been Sony's strength. Playstation sells on it's name and titles like FIFA and GTA.

They don't really need first party games (proven again by ps4 sales) and therefore it makes sense their focus is not on it. Didn't they say most of them don't make a profit? They'll probably start releasing more of them down the line, when the install base is higher and it's more easy for their games to be profitable.

NES, SNES, N64, GC, Wii, WiiU, GB, GBC, GBA, DS, 3DS, Mega Drive, Game Gear, PS1, PS2, PSP, XBOX 360, Atari Lynx

It's funny an executive admits it, but the fans say otherwise.

Also why isn't sony held accountable for the promised 12 new ip and 20 games within the first year?
