Forums - PC Discussion - Where is Geforce 960ti?

It is time for me to upgrade my GPU. I have Geforce 650ti and was planning to upgrade to 960ti but there is no news about it since january? Carmageddon comes out tomorrow and I want to play it on Max. Also GTAV would be nice on Max rather than Medium to High with no aliasing.

Should I wait for 960ti or go with 960? or R9 280? My budget is ~200 euro. I'm looking at these:

No offense, but stop getting the GTX x50 Ti's.  I have never seen more consistently terrible price/performance.  Just save up and get something that costs bairly any more and doubles performance, or pay 30% less for a 10% hit in performance.

Prediction for console Lifetime sales:

Wii:100-120 million, PS3:80-110 million, 360:70-100 million

[Prediction Made 11/5/2009]

3DS: 65m, PSV: 22m, Wii U: 18-22m, PS4: 80-120m, X1: 35-55m

I gauruntee the PS5 comes out after only 5-6 years after the launch of the PS4.

BTW, sometimes you can get lucky and catch a 280x on sale, it outperforms the 960, the 280, and the 285.

Just get a used 7970 on ebay for $100 or less.  The market is flooded with them.

Actually it is bad to use the CPUBoss and the GPUBoss websites. They are pretty bad and have pretty wierd comparisons. It is better to use Futuremark's webpage if you want to compare performance since you just need a quick google search to see the specs. You can check most of GPUs here: http://www.futuremark.com/hardware/gpu?_ga=1.88951003.1324000984.1432221226

Also you can see that the 960 is below the 285 and 280x. I would only buy a 960 if I were to make a compact build since that card is small, quiet, cool and does not need a lot of energy. Buying it with a beefy cooling solution is overkill.

That is a load of bull. Looking at futuremark(3DMark) is the worst thing you can do. Benchmarks are not games and AMD has proven more than enough that their raw specs can't hold up in a lot of games despite being more powerful on paper.

In this case OP has a clear goal of which game he likes to play so the only thing he should look at are game benchmarks. And in his scenario(GTAV without AA) the 960 edges out the 280 and even the 285 slightly.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Just get the 970 instead of the 960 as long as Witcher 3 and Arkham Knight are still included.

These games almost make up for the price difference... and you know that you want these games anyway ;)

You're gonna have to wait a long time for 960 ti (if 960 ti is in the works), but you should wait another month until the 980 ti and 390x are released. Those new cards should drive down the price on 970 or 290/290x. However, I'm not sure if 960 or 280 will have a big price drop though.

By the time the 960ti would come out, the R9 370X and 380X will be out.

Actually I meant with AA, my bad.

I guess I will go with 960, anything more would be overkill cos I only do 1080p.

But only the R9 390 and R9 390X will be Fiji-GPUs if the rumours are true. R9 380X and R9 370X will be probably power-hungry Hawaii-Chips, perhaps Tongas.

But the OP only mentioned price as a limiting factor .

Tonga really isn't that power hungry. The 380X will be based of the Tonga Core, the 370X will be Southern Islands (which according to my experiance with the R7 265 isn't insanely power hungry like Hawaii)
