Seems sonys morpheos has the advantage here

Don't Rule Out Oculus Rift for PS4/XBO, Says Oculus

What am I reading lol?

"Hey guys here the (quite high) recommended PC specs but please ignore them because we might also support Casio calculators" from Sony and Microsoft   (no offense xD)

I am confused right now :)

Better than a $12,000 PC.

and how much for the oculus? would like to have a reference for sonys morpheus.

I expect the rift to cost $300-$400

component prices will go down a bit until Q1/16, but it looks like people that didn't upgrade or buy/build a new PC recently are looking at about $1k investment for good (not highest end) PC VR

Without peripherals, it can add up to 1.3->1.7k depending on people needs and for higher end rigs

Like others have said on other articles on various sites, it's not that bad and even then getting a PC of that spec will do you good for gaming for years while the OR takes advantage of the hardware instead of having to rely on a something less powerful.

But this isn't going to stop non PC people from shtting on this and collecting scraps to throw at PC gamers again, the usual routine.

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

It's not really that bad, I built mine For 700 before the second GPU and fancy case that nobody really needs. Thats about the average price of a laptop, and you'll be getting a much better machine for the same money anyway. The problem is, most people wouldn't know where to start. Steam machine like PC's would be a good starting point, but then you're paying more for less.

It's looking like PM will have the upper hand in this war, everything bundled in one box. Going to be hard to beat that.

Or there are many of us PC gamers with high end hardware (like mine) that know the majority of PC gamers do not.  Just check Steam or 3DMark configuration stats.

Look at nVidia and AMD sales data.  Mid range GPUs dominate their sales.

Steam HWS =/= rest of the world.

Nvidia and AMD keep track of every single card and what they are used for now?, last time I also checked Nvidia had a good 70% of the market, so it should be more Nvidia sales than anything else.

That just doesn't add up though, how is PM going to be on the exact same level as OR?, if it were exactly pin point the same as OR in every way int erms of software/hardware/performance then this whole £800+ is bat shit insane, like stop the rpesses lets completely just abandon ship insane.

I honestly don't think it;s going to be the same between the two, no way is Sony going to make something so magically cheaper and god like pwoerfull without losing in some dept whether it be hardware/performance/cost, the price of OR specs+hardware is going to have a better output somewhere rather than just nothing, that's not how it works.

Did you dodge my point on purpose or did you just miss it?

No, no I did not, if your point was meant to act as an end all to be all, that would have been an error on your part.

I didn't say it would be, It it wont be. OR or even vive will be the better heads sets just because of the rigs you can attach to them. But it's the causuals that win the war, never the hard core. Theres to few of us. And When it comes to causals they just want to plug and play.

And you're also talking about building a pc, which most people wont do. Good luck finding a machine at best buy that will do the job. Thats why OR needs a steam like machine that says it's OR ready or even comes as a complete kit. And thats why I said Sony would have the upper hand because it will come packaged as a bundle, plug and play.
