Forums - Sony Discussion - Freedom Wars 2? We Need To Talk About It.

Tagged games:

Listen up guys and gals, I'll get right to the point. Freedom Wars needs to continue! If you've played Freedom Wars before you'll know that this game is one of the best hunter games out there, and it left us on a cliffhanger.

A sequel could happen if people speak up to Sony.

"In an interview with Famitsu, former producer Junichi Yoshizawa stated that it was important for people to speak up if they wanted a sequel to the Vita exclusive game Freedom Wars."

What better way than a petition? https://www.change.org/p/sony-we-want-a-sequel-to-freedom-wars

If you like this game, then let Sony know. For the greater good!

Yes this is a petition thread. By the way, I'm not the one that started the petition, but I want to spread the word.

I was kind of interested in this game, but the lack of an English dub made me pass. There are several vita games I would have got if not for the same issue...

It'd be nice if Sony made FW2 for both the PS4/Vita. They should also port the first one to the PS4.

You don't need English dub, everything is translated. Give it a try, I'm confident you won't regret it.

c'mon doods, just a few more signs.

Eh I found the combat horrendously repetitive to be honest. That, combined with the weird weapon upgrade system that never seemed to pay off, and I never ended up finishing it
I don't see a sequel happening, maybe an ultimate ala mh4? But sony looks to have zero interest in vita games at the moment.

If you mean farming for parts to upgrade your weapons, then yes I agree, farming can be repetitive. the game isn't for everyone, it is meant to be somewhat difficult, and so upgrading your weapons to max means you also have to go up against the toughest of battles.

The sequel depends on the fans, the former producer said it.

Only played a few hours before I quit. Monster Hunter has a more meticulous combat system where you have different actions having a wide range of damage and recovery time. This game takes the hunting aspect but removes any real depth to the hunting which why all of these clones are failures in comparison.

This is why Sony should hire From Software to create Demon's Hunters. The Souls gameplay is different than Monster Hunter but both use a meticulous style of play. If the series received balancing, quest like matchmaking, replayable areas, etc, it'd be like a MonHun game but with completely different gameplay. Souls has a pretty large community for games that are poorly built around the aspect. So a game developed to help make a community interact easier, a game built around a community would be ideal.

Sony shouldn't both with not only one but two series, Soul Sacrifice, that are only 'okay' and almost no one cares about.

Wait so you mean to tell me that after a few hours of playing, you think that Freedom Wars doesn't have a detailed combat system? I think the problem is that the people that don't understand it, don't have the patience to get good.

In all honesty, the combat is easy to understand, but hard to master, and you're fairly limited to what you are allowed to do when you start out. That is until you gain more freedom.

To put it vaguely; You have three types of grappling thorns, and choosing between a healing, attacking or defending style will alter your play style. You can mix and match the different thorns with your teammates and really get a strategy going. There are tons of guns and melee weapons to equip as well, and augmentations that permanently boost your basic stats.

In actual combat; jumping onto an Abductors arm and sawing it off, and then seeing them try to shake you off, and if you jump off in time you can re-shoot your thorn at the abductor while airborne and go right back to cutting parts off like nothing happened. It makes you feel like a bad-ass.

You really can't do or learn how to do all this in just a few hours, because you won't have access to most weapons.

They definitely need to make a sequel. The dang story was left hanging.
