Forums - Sony - 180,000 for BloodBorne first week in Japan was imposible?

If BloodBorne shipped +200,000, do you think that +180,000 was possible?

Yes. 76 73.08%

nope. 28 26.92%

Total:104

My BloodBorne predict was 180,000 first week in Japan.

It sold +150,000 (still nice), but...

BloodBorne ship around 175,000, nearly 90% of the BloodBorne sales.

Now, just a question.

If BloodBorne shipped +200,000 unit or more in Japan, do you think that my 180,000 prediction was possible?

Most won't expect it, since its still a game targeted for a niche market.

It would've sold 150k even with a 200k shipment.

Won bet with t3mporary_126 - I correctly predicted that the Wii U's LTD at the end of 2014 would be closer to 9 million than 10 million. http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=6673287

I don't think it would have jumped to 180k, but a larger shipment would definitely have resulted in some kind of boost. At 87% sell through it will have been sold out at many places. It's hard for a game to reach its full sales potential (at least for physical) when it's not available to many.

Perhaps it would do 165k with larger availability, but those extra sales will now be sold in the second week, the more important question is will it sell 200k in two weeks.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

Grammar nazi here. The number of mistakes in the OP are too high. Lol. It did had good numbers. Anything above 150k is great for Japan.

Now is better?

I expect Bloodborne to have legs given the rapidly growing PS4 install base and the great critical reception.

This is the Game of Thrones

Where you either win

or you DIE

I am sure BloodBorne will have greater longevity for the LT. It is an amazing game that follows a trend, but differs from it just enough to make it an amazing standout.

Bloodborne is almost completely sold out in Germany. A friend of mine wants to get it so badly but he can't find any store where it is still in stock. :(

So I think it would have been possible.
