Reading through the Japanese direct, more takes:

1. Missed opportunity by not making a full Animal Crossing
2. Fire Emblem IF looks very solid, but I do wish Intelligent Systems were given more budget to work with. WTF is with two versions though..... Why would they charge people who buy one version an additional $15-20 for the content in the other version. Really hope that crap gets tossed when it gets localized.
3. Ace Attorney looks super well made. Not my cup of tea, but fans should have good reason to be excited.

What? I thought you could chose your own path. You need to pay extra to experience the different story?

Another game I can cross of my list to purchase if true, I don't support such practices.

In Japan, the game will be released as two titles, Fire Emblem If: White Kingdom and Fire Emblem If: Black Kingdom, for 4,700 yen each. If you buy one verison, you’ll be able to purchase the other for 1,852 yen as downloadable content game. A large part three is also planned for release at the same price somewhere down the line. A limited edition version of the game including all three scenarios will be available for 9,250 yen.

That's from Gematsu. As I said, I hope that crap gets scrapped when it gets localized.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,

I hope people here won't try to defend it just because it's Nintendo doing it...

It's June for those of us in Europe.

That...hurts my soul.

But you all in Europe deserve it for getting most other titles so late.

Wow if true. Sounds like Japan's getting hosed...

That would be weird. They didn't make it seem like that in the European direct, rather just like a regular game where you choose your fate depending on storyline choices...

4700 yen, what does a normal 3DS game in Japan cost?

There is no normal game MSRP in Japan. Publishers set prices for each game individually based on what they think they can charge. For comparison, Xenoblade X is $70 in Japan, but Xenoblade 3D is only $35. Bravely Default 2 is $50. Puzzles and Dragons Mario Edition is ~$40.

That may be just Japan by the looks of it, in the EU version it was just explained as one game with two paths.

Same with the NA version. I don't think they'll split it up in the west.
