Looks like the gap will be even wider now.

We'll let's be serious, was Zelda really gonna do all that much? Maybe Wii U will only sell 3.2 million now instead of 3.5 million, not really a big deal.

That's the part of the outcry that really makes me laugh. That Wii U sales are now doomed this year because of this delay. Um, Zelda has really never been a system seller. We can say OoT perhaps was to a small extent (though Mario 64 is what really sold the system), but that's about it. Most of the core Zelda fanbase already has a Wii U, and the amount of people that will buy one just for a new Zelda will be like 500k or less. So it's not making a huge difference in that respect either way. If Wii U ever would get a true system seller, it was never gonna be Zelda U anyways.

1) Delays are not always good for Zelda.

Which means sometimes delays are good for zelda.  Listen man, i was pretty distraught when i heard the news too.  Mainly because, with halo, uncharted and zelda releasing all at the same time, this was going to be the biggest holiday season for all game-races for as long as i can remember.  That being said, this is nintendo, and nintendo has had the same mantra for as long as they've been making games; they release a game when it's ready and not a moment sooner.  It sucks that they didn't wait longer to give us a solid release date before they really got their hands dirty with development, but really that might be our fault as a gaming community constantly pressuring companies for release dates.  It also sucks for them because this leaves a HUGE hole for their  q4 sales, but that's really just a testament of nintendo's commitment to quality over corporate convenience.  So in conclusion; just chill.  We'll get our zelda game, and it will be awesome, or at least really good.  Just like it always is.  It's been my most reliable franchise to date.  It may not blow me away everytime, but i've never played a bad zelda game on a nintendo home console (zelda 2 is the only exception to that.)

Eh, the reestructuration claim is pretty baseless, I mean why would they scrap the game's open world at this point, if anything, they're adding more things to it.

As i said in another thread, the biggest standout for me is that they wont even show it at e3, it makes me think theyre not even confident about it being ready in 2016, and at the same time, makes me think that they are seriously considering waiting for the next hardware to launch with a solid title.

Either way, If i was a huge Nintendo fan, I would be pretty much devastated right about now, and I'm seeing that in big-time Nintendo fans on VGC the past few days, fans that normally stood by Nintendo and their choices through thick and thin, seriously questioning the faith they placed in Nintendo.

And while it's probably a good thing that every once in a while a fanbase gets a wakeup call (ps3, xbo and now WiiU), it's sad to see the change in otherwise diehard fans losing their composure.

There's no amusement, fun or desire for gloating/teasing, just genuine disappointment in Nintendo for treating their own fanbase this way.

Nintendo better have another massive title for the holiday season.  Nintendo's output this generation has been terrible, honestly if I only had a Wii U this gen I'd be really frustrated, thank god for PS and Xbox.

They clearly delayed this game to coincide with the franchises 30th anniversary

I have the feeling that they ran into a lot of trouble making Zelda U the game they wanted it to because of the Wii U's limitations, yes, we saw a demo running on a very stable framerate on a WiiU, but the game we saw was empty as all fuck, and considering how pretty the game was looking out to be, they most likely didn't think through that the amount of power dedicated to the visuals should be the absolute weakest it could be without making it look like absolute crap, like XCX has been doing, that game looks like shit, but it'll most likely be pretty stable as far as playability goes.

Anyway, kinda hope another certain game does this aswell and uses Kingdom Hearts 2 as the base for its combat. Square, take your time, but I want play something resembling dat 2013 demo.

I'm now filled with determination.

At least they got some new idea.

I imagine it will release first half 2016. Can't see them delaying it to the end of the year. They cant still have that much to do surely?
