My opinion: WHYYYY?, I'm tired of all these dudes and girls who think like this... yes free speech blah blah I don't care. You have an awesome female character named zelda, OR, they could create a whole new female character... but nope, they want a game with female link just because it would be awesome for their agenda. Not every game need to represent your background. I I'm not white, I'm a woman and I'm from Italy not from Hyrule, but I feel awesome when I play as Link! Link IS A CHARACTER, AN ICON, I don't care if you think otherwise.

We're always looking at it from the perspective of just having Link be female in a game. What if you just got to choose Link's gender at the beginning, I mean they say Link is supposed to be more of an "insert yourself here" character, and most games with a protagonist like that let you choose the characters gender, like Pokemon.

Since Link is androgynous anyway, the player can just think of Link as either sex. I can agree with nintendo's stance on not changing the sex of Link. I don't like the idea of changing or repurposing a well known character to draw in a different target audience. They could introduce another female character into the zelda universe and make some offshoot games based on that character.

I'm all for it. However, link has been confirmed to be a boy and I actually vouched for a girl link on that video! I just think it would open up a different way of approaching how link would act. It's kinda like Avatar, Aang was a male and then the next reincarnation was a female. I just think Zelda needs more variety and stronger roles for female characters. Hyrule warriors has the strongest roles for females in Zelda that I've ever seen. What can I say, I don't like playing as dudes all the time.

but why a female Link and why not a new female hero or Zelda. Link is a character, in your gif he has more emotions than a typical bethesda main character. I mean, if link is reincarnated as a female, then why not female ganondorf and male zelda... because that sounds stupid and useless for the franchise.
