Oh man, Super Butouden. Those were the days. This was before the internet was a thing, and before Dragonball was anywhere else besides on bootleg Hong Kong VHS tapes or whatever. So to play those games felt like such a luxery. And my friend knew all the secret tricks that they don't teach you in the game, like powerup codes, or how to deflect the projectiles in different ways, so it was always an uphill battle for us as he wouldn't share the info, and there was no way to look it up, because no internet. lol If I recall, Super Butouden 2 had quite a story mode, compared to the third game that had a simple arcade mode with some small dialogue, and in the second game you could fight underwater, so to me it felt like it was a more polished game than the third one. However, the third was still my favorite somehow. I didn't get to play Hyper Dimension back in those days. I played it later on on an emulator, but I remember how much I wanted to play it due to it's great looking graphics.
Yeah, getting it now might be expensive. I was thinking if you picked it up back then, since you have a lot of Japanese games. (Cotton 100%? lol Funny name.)

Well shoot, after reading about your fond memories, I feel like I kinda have to get this game, haha! Maybe I can find it at a used store of game store. Sounds too good to pass. Cotton 100% was recommended to me by a friend, and it`s a cute shooter ; )

Funny thing, as we were talking about this, if you buy a first print copy of the new 3DS Super Butouden game, you'll get a code to download Super Butouden 2 on your 3DS.


... Oh man, that's pretty awesome! xD That's a cool gift to give to people who buy this game. Makes me wish the 3DS was region free so maybe I could pick up the game.

Oh yeah, I forgot that it's not region free, and I didn't even consider the chances of that same promotion becoming available for the west. Since that game was never released in the west, chances seem slim. =/

Yeah, it would be nice if this game released in the west with the free game so that more people can play it, for the first time even.
