Where where you when the PS2 launched.  Were you alive?  Were you in school. 

Were you on hand for launch?

Oh thanks for asking :).  I was in the 9th grade.  I had just turned 14 years old.  I remember that the principal of my school got on the PA and announced that the PS2 was only going to be avalible to people who preordered so Best Buy wanted to make sure no one skipped school to try and get one.  Prior to that point, I didn't have a DVD player.  The PS2 was an excellent console and I want a XenoSaga Remaster more than you know lol (kids these days don't know the meaning of cinematic lol). 

So, how old were you when the PS2 launch in 2000?  Were you in school, Were you born? Do you have any interesting stories about the console's launch? 

Edit: GameStop Just announced that they are accepting PS2 tradeins again!  Seriously, I can't make this up lol:

I was a little tyke in 2nd grade who was enjoying my N64 at the time. My parents would eventually buy me a PS2 two years later.

I was working for Tesco as a butcher, where i was able to easily reserve my ps2, took the day off and spent the whole day playing smugglers run!

In front of my TV. Playing on the Atari 2600.

Oh, and i was 2585 years old then.

i was in highschool.... in the philippines

got my ps2 when i visit my sister in california for christmas and she got me a ffx2...

I live in Italy, When PS2 is coming, i was a kid... and PS2 was my first console.
I'm Nintendo fan, but my first Console was Sony...

Any way, PS2 in Italy is still alive... And i remember that in 2010 even XBOX and GameCube was selling software.

Also, some GBA game's still selling in Italy (but very poor, so, we don't have a GBA charts).

Playing my Dreamcast, which blew me away so bad that I never cared about the PS2 at all, and the last games of the N64.

My favoirte Dreamcast game was Powerstone! It was an excellent system. 

I was born in 2000, PS2 is as old as me :S
