Yeah... I remember people claiming about how the country with the largest population in the world could also become the largest gaming market in the world. Population don't means shit when the government sucks. I am still interested in seeing how PS4 does there, but I don't see either lasting very long.

They could still become the largest console market in the world. Those expecting it to happen immediately however were very wrong.

Not going to happen.

It's very possible. As the country gets more developed and the middle class grows larger and richer then there will be many more people looking for entertainment. It surely won't be any time soon, but it is possible in the future.

Not at all. The console market is never going to take off in a significant way there.

In terms of gaming though, they're already the biggest for PC, Online and mobile.

But if the PC, Online and Mobile markets were able to catch up and even overtake other countries why can't the console market do the same, given enough time and the right circumstances?

Here's hoping those circumstances arrive before they are too late.

same thing will most likely happen to PS4.

ohh and can we scrap China off the chalkboard now?

A $2m loss is tiny.

That was my thinking. With all the cost of marketing and development they only lost 2 million and some change. Put that into perspective of some of the numbers other companies division have been losing and it is just whatever.

Yeah because it's done nothing and likely to extend the ps4 lead even more when it finally releases.  The longer they wait the bigger and better library they'll have so it should get off to a more positive start.

its gonna suffer the same fate eventually.

Is there even a point for Sony to "officially" launch their console in China?

Kinda expected given Chinese gamers needs. Piracy is not considered a crime there (from general point of view). Consoles never had a chance.

You mean their needs to spend thousands on Apple devices, zero on games, and thousands on microtransactions?

Even if Sony is allowed to officially release the PS4 and Vita region-free, they're not going to fare well. Yeah, they will perform way better than the X1, but it will not be worth the investment. Sony should just focus on the other ROW countries.
