Forums - Website Topics - Why Does VGChartz Have More Nintendo Discussion?

Which is your favourite company?

Nintendo 50 67.57%

Sony 14 18.92%

Microsoft 3 4.05%

None of the above (see results) 7 9.46%

Total:74

I made a quick filtering of the forum threads.

When only "Nintendo Discussion" was marked there was 90 threads the last week.

When only "Sony Discussion" was marked there was 60 threads the last week.

When only "Microsoft Discussion" was marked there was 20 threads the last week.

Are Nintendo fans more than half the population on VGChartz?

...or are they just more willing to start new threads?

~Mod Edit~

Title changed to fit the discussion in a more neutral manner.

Nintendo is pretty much the hot topic on these forums, but I'm not sure if "infested" is the best word to describe that.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

There are definitely more Nintendo fans than anyone else, but certainly not as much as 50%.

You think Nintendo 45% Sony 40% MS 15% is an accurate split? lol

Infested implies a negative connotation, and I don't think that's the case.

There's a lot of Nintendo fans on this site with a diverse array of opinions, hence the plethora of discussion on a myriad of topics. Even the so-called "dogmatic" views are debated ad nauseum (Lots of critiques on Nintendo's own decisions, which Zeldas/Marios/etc. are the best/worst and why, ect.). I think that shows signs of a healthy community.

Plus there's Rol to always check the powers in any one direction, so that's helpful. ^_~

EDIT: We changed the title to hopefully foster less negative discussion. "Infested" paints a negative picture, and I think the debate is inconclusive at this time.

I can change the word "infested".

"To inhabit or overrun in numbers or quantities large enough to be harmful, threatening, or obnoxious"   http://www.thefreedictionary.com/infested

I agree with your comments but sometimes I think there is too much Nintendo here, and I feel it is growing, and if this site is overrun by Nintendo fans it will become boring!

EDIT: That is a neutral title!

Answering the new thread title: Because they deserve it.

Each forum paints a different picture of user activity. Nintendo discussion seems to foster a lot of activity and takes place in a diverse amount of threads.

On the other hand, the vast amount of Xbox-styled discussion takes place in one thread (the Xbox Empire), so outside discussion seen by the entire community is most certainly more scarce. Sony discussion follows Nintendo more closely (more specifically PS4 discussion), but a lot of Vita discussion takes place in the Vita thread, akin to the Xbox thread.

OK! I always found it hard to follow those threads as I am in Europe and when I can come to VGChartz there has been so many posts by americans that it is hard to read it all.

Like most said, Nintendo discussions are mostly in threads, which is why Domination is the least active, generally.

Xbox discussions usually take place in Empire so least threads.

Where as Sony is somewhere in the middle

Here lies the hidden threads.

Nintendo Metascore | Official NintenDomination | VGC Tutorial Thread

| Best and Worst of Miiverse | Manga Discussion Thead |

I can think of a few reasons for this:

1) Nintendo's current situation makes them more of a hot topic

2) there are a lot of Nintendo fans here

3) not as much centralization of discussion to one thread.
