To all the naysayers here - once you have a child who developed some type of PDD after the vaccine, like mine have, I would like to hear again on this topic from you.

This may sound harsh, but have you ever had a child die of whooping cough or be crippled for life by polio?

Because that is the alternative.

I'm very sorry that your child has suffered, but was it actually proven that vaccines were the cause?

Can you prove that vaccines caused the PDD? It wasn't just diagnosed after the vaccine?

Everything these days can cause autism apparently including our food.

The big question is why is there mercury in vaccines? I never really understood that

Without herd immunity, as provided by high vaccination coverage, diseases like whooping cough would run rampant, and we would return to the days where children died in droves from diseases that have since thankfully been brought under control.

Here's a great video on herd immunity: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZRclbfK5q08

Ah yes, the old "post hoc ergo propter hoc"! We meet again!

No, he was perfectly fine before, and than after vaccine various symptoms of PDD-NOS appeared, including his regression in speech and understanding language. It's relatively mild now, after six years have passed, and he improved a lot, but claiming that vaccine cannot cause PDD is quite silly.

Also, Measles killed 145,700 people in 2013 alone, or about 400 per day.

That is, however, a 75% decrease from 2000... thanks to, you guessed it, vaccination.

Your best argument is the numbers argument.

However if the children of parents who choose to vaccinate are vaccinated, then they should be protected from those who's parents chose not to vaccinate them.

Look up herd immunity. And not everyone can get their child vaccinated as some have genuine health concerns. Not immunising decreases herd immunity which increases the likelyhood of outbreaks and children suffering.

Correlation doesn't necessarily mean causation though. There could have been any number of contributing factors.

Not sure sarcasm is called for he's talking about his own son, also you don't know if it's not causal so it's not post hoc

Reasoning provided suggested that because the PDD followed a vaccination, the vaccine was responsible for the PDD.

I would normally be okay with stupid parents letting their kids die if they're willing to listen to celebrities or bloggers over scientists who do actual accredited research, but these diseases are a public health issue and can kill those that can't get the vaccination one reason or another (see: Infants, kids who had cancer, etc), meaning that you can become culpable for the death of a child that isn't yours. That is where we have a problem.
