Hello, and welcome to The Official Thread!
The purpose of this thread is to support the community so that we have the ability to cultivate a diverse and active gaming community. Here is where small threads as well as large ones have the chance to be seen by all those who want to participate in awesome gaming discussion. Here's what you can do to start creating, and submit something for all to see!
- Volunteer!
- This is the thread where you can volunteer to make (or take over for) any "Official" gaming related thread.
- Volunteer only if it means you are willing to work on it.
- If you don't want a thread, don't volunteer!
- If you change your mind, reply here to say you're not claiming it.
- If you volunteer for a thread but don't make it (or give it up in here), you're negatively impacting gaming discussion as well as hurting those who wanted to work on it. Don't do that!
- If someone else wants the thread after you, take our advice and WORK WITH THEM. You are not entitled to make the thread exclusively. The purpose of volunteering is about preventing two people wasting their time making duelling threads. It is not about allowing you to exclude others. If there are any problems cooperating, solve them yourselves. The mods aren't here to police your work or to mediate between every argument. We know that you all can work together to create something awesome.
- Don't volunteer to make threads on someone else's behalf unless you are going to be responsible for said thread later.
- Please use common sense when Volunteering to make an Official thread; there's no need to claim something 4 years in advance.
- You may also volunteer to take a thread has has been abandoned or is not suitable for being an Official Thread.
- Create!
- For what actually qualifies for this Official thread, you can start working on the following gaming related threads:
- Upcoming/Already Released Games (Pac-Man 6: The Swallowing Thread)
- Upcoming Hardware/Peripherals (PS5 Launch Thread)
- Games Listing Projects (Ouya Game Recommendation Thread)
- Console/Game ID Sharing (NNID Sharing Thread)
- Tournaments/Leagues/Get Togethers (Half-Life 3 Tournament Thread)
- Focus on presenting the facts in a clear and concise manner.
- Avoid letting hype distort your perspective. It's more than okay to be excited for a game, but that doesn't mean you should ignore news/reviews/opinions/etc. that aren't sunshine and roses. In the same way, do not try to force out certain opinions from other users (whether they be positive or negative). If the user is forming their opinion in a backed up manner that doesn't break the rules, then they are perfectly fine in posting in your thread.
- If a thread is incredibly bare bones, is purposley issuing misleading information, isn't updated to meet the current needs of the topic, or does anything that serves to take away from the overall thread, another user can (and will) replace that thread with their own.

- To add a little something extra, please submit an 810x80 banner that represents your Official Thread (I will make it 810x80, so make sure it's that size when you submit it to me!). This can be words, screenshots, artwork, etc. For example:
