I would be all over this like a rash. MGS1 could be godly if it got remade. Anyone else excited for a potential openworld remake?

I'm quite interested that Kojima is thinking to recreate the original MGS as an open-world game. However, I feel like he would waste an opportunity trying to remake an already remade game like MGS. I feel he should venture more on the older and more primitive games like Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake. They could even expand on those stories.

Hm, I am not sure how that would actually work, MGS1's map is rather small. I agree with Mr_No though, Metal Gear 1 (and 2) especially could use a remake, there is a lot of untapped potential there.

I personally dont want a remake and would just rather him give MGS a rest and do something original

Sure, why not. Eliminate loading screens and Shadow Moses is kind of (a small) open world anyway.

Pretty much, I think the example that Kojima used for a remake was A Planet of the Apes remake that brings the past and present together to make something new, overall the result would be interesting.

Open World would ruin it, imo.

A remake of MGS1 would be nice, but I'm not entirely sure that an "open world" would work with MGS1.
