Forums - Microsoft Discussion - When will we see an actual new IP made by MS?

When?!?!

Before E3 11 4.10%

@ E3 82 30.60%

After E3 12 4.48%

Never, enjoy HaloforzaGea... 163 60.82%

Total:268

Title says it all, and I'm talking about retail AA/AAA games. Sure we've seen some new IPs like SO, Scalebound, Quantum Break, etc. But these aren't made by MS themselves. So the question is, when do you think MS will reveal a new IP that they are actually making? I'm a little disappointed it's taking this long to see a new IP from them, they boasted about the "8 new IPS" at launch but they ended up being by third party or smaller titles (I don't even know what the 8 new ips were tbh).

We know Lionhead has been working on a new IP, Rare could be making one as well.

Personally I think we'll see a new IP from either Lionhead or Rare at E3! Finally MS!

They have to moneyhat 3rd parties to mask the fact that they can't make their own first party games; they aren't really into that homemade formula.

Kappa.

Nah you're right, MS doesn't know how to build their own games. All they can do is moneyhat and milk Gears, Halo, and Forza. Tell me when they make something new (this may never happen I know).

Wow I just realized something, we getting a Fable, Gears, Forza, and Halo most likely all in this same year....

They'll make a new IP once Halo stops selling. Or in other words; never.

At E3 if I had to guess.

Gears? didn't they start development on that in 2014? afaik most retail game projects take about 4 years from initial planing to release these days

I'm sure they'll come out with a good ol' kinect game at e3, don't you worry!

Honestly, I was a bit disappointed when the Black Tusk original IP got shelved or cancelled because they were handed Gears of War.

Project spark?
