Self-explanatory. In 2014, the Wii U had 27 games with a metascore of 75+. However, I believe that 2015 will see bigger returns in this department.
2014 75+ Wii U Games: Smash Bros., Bayonetta 1/2, Mario Kart 8, Guacemelee, Shovel Knight, Skylanders Trap Team, Child of Light, The Swapper, Steamworld Dig, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Stealth Inc 2, 1001 Spikes, Captain Toad, Stick it to the Man!, Pushmo World, Tetrobot and Co., Teslagrad, Ittle Dew, Scram Kitty, Sportsball, Swords & Soliders HD, Lone Survivor: Director's Cut, XType Plus, Hyrule Warriors and Just Dance 2015.
With Nintendo's Wii U lineup including Zelda, Xenoblade, Star Fox, Splatoon, Mario Maker, Yoshi, Kirby, etc., I think their first party offerings will see better reviews in bigger quantities. Plus, there are titles that will inevitably release this year which have yet to be announced. In addition, the Wii U's indie scene was prevalant in 2014, and it's only growing. Already the Wii U has its first 75+ title for 2015 with Citizens of Earth, which is sitting at a 79.
Furthermore, while 3rd parties have all but abandoned the Wii U, they didn't make that much of an impact in terms of 75+ games in the first place. The only 3rd party games listed above were Skylanders, Child of Light and Just Dance; Skylanders and Just Dance are more than likely to return, in addition to some other 3rd party games coming such as Project CARS and the LEGO games, as well as Bandai Namco's 'Project Treasure'.
Do you agree or disagree with my prediction?
